The vents produce crystalline sulfur, which was mined on a small scale in the past. Seepage of sulfurous gases has also caused acidic discolouration of the small crater lake.

Awesome Tour! - This was one of the best tours I have been on! It was well organized, well thought out, and fun. Our guide, Anggi, was stellar, he was nice, funny, considerate and also had knowledge on so many things, there was never a dull moment for conversation. He is also a great hype man and photographer! The actual hike was beautiful, even tho it was a bit foggy in the beginning, once it cleared up it was stunning. Proceeding to the hot springs, SO relaxing! Then we headed for lunch. Having a driver pick you up was so handy and nice. Would highly recommend!

Incredible experience! - This was such an incredible experience in northern Sumatra. Anggi, our guide up the mountain was so knowledgeable and lots of fun. He made the early morning summit worth it by accomodating our abilities and taking us to the highest peak! You can tell he really loves what he does and adjusts the climb to suit the traveller. Our driver Rishki was also great, making a pit stop especially for us so we could purchase some rain jackets! He drove us out to Sipisopiso waterfalls and allowed us to spend as much time as we wished there. Such a full day and great hospitality from our guides. Would highly recommend!

Good trip - Very good trip from bukit lawang to rebastagi , with camping at mont sybayak. Everything managed perfectly by our guide Ricky.

Sunrise Hike - Had the best time with Riski and Anggi. We did the sunrise hike followed by the hot springs. Their local knowledge and hospitality was first class. couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Unforgettable morning at Mount Sibayak ☺️ - We had the best time visiting the beautiful Mt Sibayak with the team! Smooth pick up and journey with our driver Riski - we were comfortable & able to get some more sleep on the way!
Anggi was an incredible guide - so friendly, superb English, extremely knowledgeable about the area and willing to share some brilliant stories!! We hiked to the highest point and enjoyed a hot coffee whilst we waited for the sunrise 🌅
One of the best tours we’ve been on during our travels! Thank you Hendra and your team!!

The BEST mountain tour in Northern Sumatra! - The BEST mountain tour in North Sumatra!
Anggi was a great tour guide and one of the kindest and most interesting people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Riski was a relaxed and great driver and facilitator of the tour. Hendra was a clearly great guy and relaxed as well. Overall a brilliant group of people to be running a tour of the area and cannot recommend these guys enough to those visiting Medan/Northern Sumatra.
Reasonable price, exceptional service, great memories!

Awesome guide and everyone should use! - Hendra, was my guide and he is awesome. His English is clear and proficient to maybe even the level of native. He also volunteered to bring me to highest peak instead of the common ones that hikers go to. One of the best thing yet, he served me hot tea at the peak. Extremely good customer service and I am incredibly pleased with him. Highly recommend!

Nice hike - Quite an easy hike accessible to everyone. Lots of locals camping near the summit.
Not sure if a guide is really required there, but anyway, getting to the bottom of the mountain from Medan and back probably would've been a hassle so I don't regret getting a tour.
Riski did a good job getting me from Medan and back. I felt comfortable throughout the whole ride.
Konong is an amazing guide and, more importantly, very interesting person. I really enjoyed talking to him.
The volcano itself is beautiful! You should go close to the fumarolas, the colors and the sound are other-worldly!

Day on the mountain - Hendra was a 10/10 tour guide. The experience was seamless, from pickup at Medan and the tour for the day on the mountain, then the hotsprigngs, then the waterfall, amazing. Would definetly recommend again to any of my friends.
Also, once we arrived to the summit, it was very cloudy. Whilst most other groups went down straight away, hendra was kind enough to wait in hopes that the weather would clear up. To which it finally did, and really made the whole experience. big ups Hendra!
