Udawale couple safari - Great service from this company, picked up from our hotel in Ahungalle and then drove down to Udawale. There Subhash took us around to search for animals. Performed in a considerate manner, I was worried about some reviews here that stated drivers were animal friendly, definitely not the case here, very friendly and conscious indeed! Great stuff well done!

Welcome to Jumanji - We were collected from our hotel in Bentota by a lovely driver in an air-conditioned car, for a 4 hour journey to Udawalawe National Park! Yes, 4 hours!!! When we arrived, we were taken to a small restaurant for a light buffet lunch (not included in the price, but very reasonable and the food was delicious). Take this opportunity to use the toilet facilities!
We were then introduced to our driver for the safari part of our trip and shown to the jeep, which we had all to ourselves. The driver (sadly we cannot remember his name) was very knowledgeable and took us to secluded areas of the park where we saw Elephants, Buffalo, Wild Birds, Monkeys, Monitor lizards and countless other animals without disruption from other jeeps. Sometimes it felt like we were the only ones in the National Park. However, when we did meet other jeeps, we were greeted with smiles and waves. You could honestly see the excitement and appreciation on people’s faces.
Our tour guide was magnificent. Communication was no issue. He also seemed to be enjoying the tour and took photos on his camera for himself. This showed us that no matter how many times he’s taken people out on safari he still comes across things that are new and exciting to him. But that sums up Sri Lanka.
Overall, we would recommend this trip.

Highlight of our Sri Lankan Adventure! - Our driver picked us up from Kalutara for an extra USD 20 - so don't be put off if you're not in Bentota. The team will accommodate your pick up and drop off.
Driver down to Udawalawe was great, clean and spoke perfect English, answering all our questions. We made it to the Park in around 4 hours due to light traffic.
We booked a private tour for two people, it wasn't cheap but I have no regrets as the park is AMAZING. The wildlife is beautiful despite all the rain, we managed to see around 10 elephants, golden jackals, foxes, peacocks, crocodile, eagle owls, deer, wild boar, wild cows, water buffalo, hawk eagles, hornbills... the birds are stunning and colourful. If you're a twitcher, you'll be in heaven!
This was the highlight of my first trip to Sri Lanka, and I'm sure I'll return. April is a wet month - we live in Dubai, so the rain was great fun for us!
