• Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - After visiting the cave temple, the journey continues to Sigiriya, or Sinhagiri (Lion Rock, pronounced see-gi-ri-yə), an ancient rock fortress in the northern Matale District near Dambulla in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. This site is of historical and archaeological importance, featuring a massive rock column nearly 200 meters (660 feet) high.
