As a seasoned thrill-seeker, I’ve soared through the skies in various forms, but paragliding over Medellín was a new frontier I couldn’t resist. Our journey began with a warm welcome from Juanes, our driver, whose engaging stories and infectious enthusiasm set the tone for the day.
Upon reaching the base, we faced a choice: a leisurely ride up to the launch site or a climb up a few hundred steps. Naturally, we opted for the climb, relishing the chance to stretch our legs and build anticipation for the flight ahead. The steps were manageable, and the view from the top was a tantalizing preview of the adventure to come.
Soaring Through the Skies
Strapped in and ready to fly, I met my pilot, Camilo, whose calm demeanor and expertise immediately put me at ease. As we took off, the world below transformed into a breathtaking tapestry of vibrant greens and sprawling cityscapes. The sensation of gliding through the air, with the wind rushing past, was nothing short of exhilarating.
Camilo’s knowledge of the area was impressive, and he pointed out fascinating sights like a local potato farm and the unique flora and fauna that thrive in this region. Despite my usual craving for adrenaline, I found the flight to be a serene escape, a rare moment of peace amidst the chaos of life.

As we descended, I couldn’t help but reflect on the seamless blend of thrill and tranquility that defined this experience. The landing was smooth, and the welcoming committee of friendly dogs at the facility added a charming touch to the end of our adventure.
The entire operation was top-notch, from the well-maintained facilities to the attentive staff who ensured every detail was perfect.
