Altun Ha and Zipline Adventure Well Worth It! - Our tour was very informative, entertaining and enjoyable. Unfortunately, it had rained heavily in the days preceeding our trip, and the cave tubing was not open that day. We still were able to tour Altun Ha which was a highlight of our vacation for our 17 year old, and we also were able to really enjoy the ziplining course. The guides were great with our 6 and 9 year olds who were both first time zipliners. Despite the Cave tubing not being open, our tour guide, Wayne, made the day a great one for us telling us all about the areas we drove through, the country of Belize, and the many different types of flora and fauna we saw. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Our family really enjoyed our time with him. Our tour provider, Private Belize Adventures, was able to get us a prompt refund for the portion of the tour that was unavailable due to the weather, and they were able to still make the rest of our day a great family outing. We would recommend them anytime.

Full, exciting day exploring Belize! Private and safe! - We absolutely loved our tour with Paul! Pick up from Belize Express started off our adventure to Altun Ha... We amazingly had the place to ourselves! And Paul took the time to explain the ruins and the surrounding areas to us, climbed the steps and took some great pictures for/of us. We then had any amazing lunch at the Teaky Tavern followed by exploring the forests and caves... Perfect weather, great company! We would definitely recommend booking your private tour with Paul, you will not regret it!

Great one day adventure - Perfect way to see an do several things all in one day when you are taking a short trip to Belize. Your day starts early as you have to catch the first water taxi off the island at 6:00am, but it’s well worth getting up early for one day of your vacation. The ruins are a beautiful site and our guide gave us a good history lesson about Mayan culture and rituals. Zip lining in the tree tops here is quite beautiful. And if you come when several species of natural orchids are in bloom, it is no doubt even better. Our tour guides gave us some nature lessons and also a little more information about current Mayan culture that still exists in the country even today. Tubing through the caves was extremely relaxing. The water is so crystal clear and the perfect temperature. Even the travel time in the car through the city of Belize and in between activities was fun to experience.

This is the one to book - When booking our honeymoon vacation, this is the only "planned" activity i scheduled. It was sooooo worth it.. A rocky start when we didn't know where to meet, but with some help we contacted our tour guide, Ellsworth. He picked us up and we had a full day of Mayan Ruins, Ziplining, lunch, and cave tubing. He was very personable, informative, and all around great guide. If you want to book a tour, this is the one...oh, and did I mention it was only the 3 of us, so no waiting for others to keep up on the tour.. He even drove us through the city and explained lots of cultural information. Maureen Scanlon Mesa, Az

DIY Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker - Just got back from Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker Belize (mid-Apr). Went to catch a bucket fish, but don't have the money for guides. This is my 2 cents. Went to Secret Beach side and waded almost 4 miles north and only saw 1 bonefish. An absolute beautiful setting for bonefish, crystal clear water, and huge shallow flats. You can't walk the big lagoon as it has a muddy bottom. This area surely has bonefish, but they just weren't there when I was. Went to the East side north of most of the resorts and fought with the sargassum, but immediately saw fish. Landed a bonefish, small permit and a small tarpon in less than an hour, but I know it was pure luck. However, I did land other bonefish between piers. The water is stained from the sargassum, so you have to find areas that have the clearer water. Bays were a waste of time as they were filled with the weed, but the points were fishable. If you go as far as you can north to Tranquility Bay, the water gets a lot better and the number of bonefish increase. This is about an hour + golf cart ride on some rough road, but in my opinion, worth it. There were always single tarpon swimming around, but I passed on most because my 8 wt. couldn't handle larger fish. Hooked one about 20#, but not for long. Permit were very scarce and only saw a few, and I only had a shot at one. I averaged about half a dozen bonefish a day, and I felt really good about that. Saw one huge school of jack and landed one. Caye Caulker was even tougher as there were almost no areas you could walk to if you were on the north island. The South Island near the split had a LOT more bonefish and tarpon, but with all the bars, boats and piers, it was hard to fish. However, every bar on a pier that I went into I would have bonefish swimming around. Every bartended I asked didn't mind if I walked out among the picnic tables (out in the water) to fish for bones. Caught my biggest bonefish will standing on a bench with my 8 wt and a beer on the table. Obviously we are talking about earlier in the day when hardly anyone was around. I did this for 2 days and landed some of the bigger bonefish of the trip. Although I would have much rather been out on a pristine flat without another soul around, this was the trip I could afford and I take great pride in catching fish every day in an area I've never been, with flies that I tied, and without the help of guide. I hope this helps anyone else who might be in the same predicament as I am. Bucket list checked off.

Great activities, poor communication - Overall, the activities that we did were very exciting and we felt that we got to experience the best of mainland Belize through them. However, the experience could have had better planning and communication as we were not given flight transfer information beforehand through email or TripAdvisor - I had to call multiple times the day before to get the details and had to confirm what we needed to bring. They were previously unresponsive over the TripAdvisor chat and their website chat feature as well. We were also under the impression that this would be a private tour and we ended up waiting for another group to arrive and join us. The description of the activity said lunch would be provided and it was not - we had to purchase our own food at the cave tubing/zip lining site. Our guide Dorian was very knowledgeable and took some great photos for us at Altun Ha, and our cave tubing guide was the greatest! I do believe that there are other inclusive tours (with clear flight transfer and breakfast/lunch provided) that are better worth the money and they take tourists to the same sites that we visited as well.
