- Belgrade - Your journey commences with a pick-up from your place of stay in Belgrade, as we set off towards the east of Serbia. During the two-hour drive, we’ll be treated to stunning vistas and captivating tales of the region.
- Golubac Fortress - The first landmark on our itinerary is the Golubac Fortress, an ancient stronghold that has protected numerous empires over the ages. Nestled in the dramatic landscape at the entrance of the Äerdap Gorge, Golubac resembles a castle straight out of a storybook. It boasts nine towers, each rising 20 to 25 meters high, and its commanding position over the Danube makes it one of the most picturesque fortresses along the river’s 2,850-kilometer journey from its source to the Black Sea.
- Danube River - Continuing our exploration, we head to the Danube’s broadest point â the renowned Iron Gate. The vastness of the river here is awe-inspiring, resembling an inland sea.
- Lepenski vir - A short 30-minute drive later, we arrive at Lepenski Vir. Discovered in 1965, this ancient site revealed a prehistoric settlement with sacred structures and imposing sculptures from one of the earliest Danube civilizations, dating back to 7000-6000 BC. This marks the dawn of European civilization. Our visit includes over 100 artifacts such as household items, tools, jewelry, altars, sculptures, and Neolithic pottery that depict life during the Mesolithic and Neolithic eras at Lepenski Vir. The exhibit also features reconstructions of burial practices and holographic recreations of the settlement’s dwellings.
- Kapetan Misin breg - Post-museum, we’ll pause at a distinctive, traditional restaurant that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Danube. Here, you can indulge in a lunch featuring the regional delicacies of Eastern Serbia (cost not included).
We trust that your perspective will be enriched as we make our way back to Belgrade in the evening.
- Belgrade - The tour wraps up with a return trip to your lodging in Belgrade, arriving in the late afternoon. Services conclude.

- Confirmation will be received at the time of booking.
- The restaurant doesn’t accept credit cards, so payment is possible only with cash.
- On a shared tour, you can only buy entrance tickets for “Zone 1” (the green zone) of Golubac Fortress. The other zones are available only on a private tour, moderate to extremely challenging, and require visitors to be in excellent physical condition. Also, appropriate clothing and footwear are mandatory (tracksuit, trousers, capris, trainers, hiking shoes).
- We kindly ask you to bring passports (just in case) because the fortress is very close to the Romanian border, and the border police in that area sometimes ask tourists for documents.
- The minimum number for a shared tour to operate is three guests.
- At least 16 hours before the trip, we will inform you in case there are not enough guests on tour, and we will offer a choice between: 1) canceling the tour with no fees applied; 2) changing the tour date; 3) moving to another available tour.

Danube like you’ve never imagined - The tour excelled my expectations in many ways. I went in as a Serbian culture rookie and thanks to our guide’s crash course in Serbian history, I left the tour a more knowledgable person. Konstantin made the difference by explaining all the intricacies of the sites we were visiting and adding historical context along the way. The lunch location was the cherry on top which added magic to the tour. Would definitely recommend the tour and suggest to visit Serbia in general. A gem!

Beautiful tour! - With our tour guide, Uroš, it was amazing! He’s genuinely a great guy & we had a lot of fun listening to him. He gave much information to every little detail, agriculture, history, food, everything was included. Really polite and patient person!
Most of the time we‘re in the nature, enjoying landscapes & views of the Danube, walking through a little tree forest and driving through small villages. It’s a long day, though with approximately 2h to drive to our first stop there’s much time to take a quick nap in the car ;)
The pick up information was really clear as well,
they gave us the information needed & we could easily find the bus.
All in all, it was a really beautiful tour!

Beautiful gobulac fortress and lovely lunch at a scenic restaurant - The highlight of this tour was Gobulac fortress and it was worth taking this trip just for the gobulac fortress and there was also a visit to the museum which was informative and part of this trip and the lunch at a scenic restaurant was also nice.

Don't miss it - The trip was very pleasant. The stops take place at very interesting points to visit. Lunch was in a beautiful place with and amazing vire to Danube River that remains in our memory. Our guide, Marko, was very attentive during the trip and the driver drove safely and calmly.

A tour not to miss the beautiful Fortress - The Fortress was magnificent along the Danube.

Beautiful tour of Eastern Serbia - As a 25 yr old female solo traveller from NYC, I felt this tour was a little over priced for Serbia. Why couldn’t the entrance fees be included in the tour price? Why wasn’t there free water and wifi in the van? I’d definitely recommend seeing the fortress, as it was a beautiful and historic site…just be aware that you’re in the car most of the day. The Lepenski museum was more of a small exhibit but very cool to learn about. I wish we had opportunity to eat earlier than 3pm because I was starving by 11am! Nonetheless, lunch was the ultimate taste of traditional Serbian food. I had a lot of fun tasting all the different foods because most of them were new to me. Buy the honey rakir as a souvenir to take home!!! The views from the behind the restaurant were also incredibly beautiful for photos. Thank you Uroš!!! He was a knowledgeable and kind tour guide & driver.

Disappointing - Even though there isn't much inside, the fortress is quite lovely. The rest is fine. Even though the tour indicated that it would pick me up at my location, I had to walk 7-10 minutes to a bus stop, which was not a major deal it’s just the other tours I took were able to pick me up/drop me off right at my door. The other concern is that when I saw the car approaching and hailed at the driver, they stopped to pick me up without confirming my name if I had gone to the right tour or they picked up the right person. There was no communication or introduction after picking up. This is the first time this has happened to me. And the guide looked like he is done/bored doing this job. I am so disappointed with the experience of the tour but the places they took are ok.
