From here, a walking tour begins through the main pedestrian zone, Knez Mihailova Street, leading to Kalemegdan Fortress, the top attraction in Belgrade.
- Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress - The Old Town Tour concludes with a visit to Kalemegdan Fortress, a prominent Belgrade attraction. Known as an open-air museum built between the 1st and 18th centuries, it has been besieged over 100 times. The Fortress is divided into Upper and Lower Towns, featuring attractions like the Roman Well, Nebojsa Tower, Military Museum, and the Victor Monument, the main symbol of Belgrade.
- Zemunski Kej - With an expert guide, explore Zemun, one of the oldest municipalities in Belgrade and one of the oldest settlements in Europe, located on the right bank of the magnificent Danube River.
On the way to the heart of this charming Belgrade municipality, pass by Hotel Yugoslavia, once the most luxurious hotel, Aviation Square, known for the former Air Force Command building designed to resemble an airplane, slightly damaged during the 1999 NATO bombing, and the only opera house in Belgrade, “Madlenianum.”
- Tower Gardos, Zemun - En route to the highest point of Zemun (Gardos Hill), pass by the Orthodox Church of Saint Nicholas, built in the 17th century and the oldest Orthodox church in Belgrade, and the House of the Karamatin Family, the most beautiful baroque building.
On Gardos Hill, visit the most famous historical symbol of Zemun, the “Millennium Tower,” built in 1896 to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the Hungarian settlement in this part of the Pannonian Plain. Constructed of stones and bricks, the tower stands 36 meters tall. The breathtaking view from the top offers a unique perspective of Old Belgrade, New Belgrade, and Zemun.
