• International Mural Wall Divis Street - This renowned wall features over 60 murals that continually evolve with global events, highlighting figures like Nelson Mandela and issues in Ukraine and Palestine, emphasizing that there are two sides to every story.
• Bombay Street - Bombay Street is recognized as the birthplace of the Provisional Irish Republican Army, emerging from the devastation of 1969 when thousands were displaced and homes were destroyed by police and loyalists.
• Falls Road Library - Facing the library is the world’s most famous mural of Bobby Sands MP, an IRA volunteer. The library, once a RIC and Black and Tans station, is where your guide will discuss the 1981 hunger strike.
• Clonard Monastery - Clonard Monastery was the site of secret peace talks between Gerry Adams and John Hume, later discovered to have been bugged by MI5. Built over 100 years ago by locals and Italians, the altar is crafted from local women’s wedding rings.
• Peace Wall - Erected in 1969 by the British Army, these massive walls still stand throughout the city. Presidents, celebrities, and tourists leave their messages for peace.
• Crumlin Road Gaol - Crumlin Road Gaol and courthouse have witnessed numerous IRA escapes and RPG attacks during The Troubles. Built in the 1800s, it served as a hanging jail until the 1960s.
• Shankill Road - Divided into lower and upper sections, this historic road is one of Belfast’s oldest, dating back to 445 AD, and is the birthplace of the UVF and UFF. Your guide will explain the history from William of Orange to the present day, and if visiting in July, you may see one of the famous bonfires.
• Shankill Graveyard - Visitors can photograph loyalist murals along Shankill, depicting loyalism and British history.
