Unique tour about Belfast - Definitely a recommendation for those visiting Belfast. We took the tour yesterday and enjoyed every minute of it. This is one of those tours where, instead of dry political facts (and Belfast has plenty of such tours), you get to hear about the city itself—its soul, the fate of its buildings, and the stories of its residents across different eras. There are of course some facts about the city's life during the Troubles as well. Barney spent several months doing thorough research, interviewing people who helped shape Belfast into what it is today. He shares many memorable stories that, for me, brought the history of Belfast together like a puzzle. If it’s your first time in Belfast and you’d like to learn more not only about its political past, but about its soul, this tour is the best choice you can make.

Fantastic tour! - I've lived in Belfast for a few years now and I still learned so much about the city on this tour! Barney is an engaging and funny storyteller, and it was fun to go on a tour that's tied together through a series of stories around the iconic buildings in Belfast. Highly recommend!

Two hours very well spent - Great tour, time very well spent. Barney weaves historical facts into compelling stories so we learned a lot and were entertained as well. He made sure we could all hear him, had visual aids and kept us away from the busy Saturday afternoon traffic in Belfast City Centre.

Barney can talk too!! - A great tour that gives lots of insights into Belfast city centre. I’d recommend the tour to locals and visitors alike. Barney has a nice mix of historical perspectives and modern takes on the city. Manages to be a good laugh and informative with plenty of fun stories peppered throughout the tour.

Best walking tour I’ve done and I’ve done a few!! - I was recommended to do this walking tour by a friend who comes from near Belfast as it was our first trip to the city and it certainly did not disappoint one bit. Barney was highly informative, knowledgeable and was clearly passionate about his city. We ended up having a private tour and we laughed and giggled throughout the two hours. Barney’s gentle Irish accent and humour left us falling in love with beautiful Belfast. This is a tour for those who want to dig a little deeper into the wonderful history of the buildings in this amazing place but it is not an architectural tour. It’s all about the secrets that the buildings on the tour keep. Some will leave you gobsmacked. We did the afternoon tour after a visit to the titanic museum and a lots of what we saw there was brought to life. Thank you Barney and the restaurant suggestion was spot on! 😉 Highly recommend!!

Fantastic tour! 2 hours for 12£. Easy to book online with a cc or just show up - Did the 1pm tour with Barney today. He is a really nice man. When you arrive to the meeting point, he asks you if “you know about The Troubles”..if you don’t & don’t have time to research, then arrive early & Barney will give you a quick history lesson. It does help to know some about it before the tour, or else you may not fully understand all of the stories. We arrived 20min early & he was already in front of the TI across from city hall. Barney has a microphone(!) & we all were given an ear piece(!) to hear him better & each ear piece has its OWN volume control(!). As we crossed roads, he would say,” as we cross here, traffic will be approaching from our right(or left)”👍 He also gave each one of us a book with pictures from the past to add to the stories. So if we were at a certain building, he would say, “turn to picture 18”, for ex. Another + is that paying 12£ for a 2 hour tour, it was only 6 of us so it felt more like a private tour, versus those free walking tours that attract TONS of ppl & you can’t hear the guide & would have still tipped the same $. Barney was friendly, down to earth & easy to talk to & ask questions. Def recommend!

Fantastic walking tour - great guide who's entertaining and informative at the same time. - Absolutely terrific tour. My wife and I live in Northern Ireland, but we wanted to learn a bit more about the history of Belfast and some of it's buildings. Barney's tour is funny and extremely informative at the same time - we picked up loads of little interesting things that we never knew along the way. Brilliant way to spend a couple of hours - we couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Highly recommended - excellent way to spend 2 hours in Belfast getting to know the place! - Barney is a lovely guy and this was a lovely and enlightening tour on a weekend. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and highlights many historical buildings including and murals connected with the troubles. His in depth local knowledge and research brings to life in a very unique way a side of Belfast that the tourists would not normally encounter. I can thoroughly recommend this tour as an enjoyable and informative experience.
