Fantastic Tour - I dont usually book experiences on airbnb however I'm so glad I booked this! My partner and I had a tour with Arthur on a drizzly Sunday a few weeks ago and it was the highlight of our trip. As someone who didn't know much about the troubles, Arthur broke down the history and told his stories with such character and humour for me to understand. What a warm, genuine human being. It felt like spending the afternoon with a friend. It was balanced, personal and also looked at modern day life and where Belfast is now. Arthur wanted to know about us throughout and we felt like he really cared about us. He was happy to answer any questions. I would wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone and have already spoken about it to friends and family members. We were debating at first whether to do a black cab tour but prefer walking. We were also sent an email with information & videos he had referenced throughout the tour so we could do more reading about it at home. It was lovely to meet you Arthur. Thank you for the tour!

Feeling like a Belfast resident - An amazing and fascinating experience listening to Arthur's anecdotes during 3 hours on historical events but also music, economy and personal episodes of life. Highly recommended to discover another, more human dimension of Belfast and the Troubles. I highly recommend it. Thanks Arthur.

Don't leave Belfast without doing this tour! - This was by far the best walking tour I have ever done! And I've done many. Steve was one of the most amazing storytellers I've ever come across. Not only did he pack 850 years of a very turbulent past into three hours, but he did it with respect, compassion and humanity. If you have any interest in the city you are visiting, then you must learn about its people, culture and history. And this tour will do that for you. Thank you Steve for sharing your story and country. (And thank you for being so considerate of those of us who can't go for 3 hours without a wee break. Pardon the pun). 6/5 stars!

A must do tour! - A must do tour! I didn’t know the half of it and was so grateful to have a guide like Arthur, funny and engaging. It was very shocking in some places and poignant in others. Had me questioning my own upbringing and feelings. If you’re interested in history and you love a good walk, this is for you. Hearing it all from someone who lived through it and is so knowledgeable and easy to understand was great. Also walking around the areas (instead of sitting in a car or bus) truly gives you a sense of the place. Would highly recommend

FANTASTIC BELFAST TROUBLES TOUR!!! - Last weekend I visit Northern-Ireland for the first time, mainly because I have been interested in The Troubles for a very long time. Happy to find out about this Troubles-tour in Belfast Based on all good reviews, I had high expectations for this tour and I must say: my expectations were absolutely satisfied. Guide Arthur is brilliant! This tour is pretty historical-political (you should be open to that, which I am myself), but it is so very interesting. Arthur knows everything about Belfast, Northern-Ireland, the Troubles. He is able to link things from the past into the context of today, and he is able to put hard facts in perspective. Arthur told a very interesting story, while walking through the centre of Belfast, through both catholic and protestant neighbourhoods and along many walls, gates, murals and memorials. For a good understanding of Northern-Ireland and Belfast, I think it is important to understand The Troubles. This tour is mainly about the conflict, but in such way that you really learn to understand Northern-Ireland better. Arthur, thank you once more for this unforgettable tour and all info you shared with me. I highly recommend this tour to everybody!
