Fabulous Meze with İrem in her home. - I take cooking classes in every country I visit. This was the most local friendly experience I’ve had to date. İrem was so welcoming and patient with us as we arrived very late to her class. She immediately caught us up and put us to work, preparing the recipes for Meze. All of the dishes were delicious and I look forward to preparing them myself. Fortunately, she also provided me with the recipes of the Meze we made. I highly recommend others take advantage of this wonderful experience.

A-meze-ing eXperience - A fun two hour class This evening İrem showed me how to make four common Turkish meze. Haydari (cheese and yogurt with dill and dried mint) Babaganuș (smoked aubergine and parsley) Kabak Tarator (fried shredded courgette with yogurt) Havuç Tarator (fried shredded carrot with yogurt) I ate them with bread and that was a delicious meal. We talked about parents, children, art and Istanbul.

What a lovely evening!... - What a lovely evening! Our host was an absolute sweetheart. We made Turkish coffee and four different Turkish mezzes—such a fun and delicious experience. It was the perfect way to spend our 8-hour layover. It was also really special to chat with someone native to the country and learn a bit about her traditions and culture.

Didn’t make much food. I skipped dinner but we didn’t make much food. Interesting experience but very spendy - Just too expensive for what we learned. Hope she sends us some of the recipes cause I did not take notes so I need to add some more words to meet the minimum
