10:30-12:30 Upon arriving at the local family’s home, you will begin preparing your own Hotpot. Family hot pot meals are a fun, collaborative experience! Some will clean, others will cut, and someone will prepare the garlic and dipping sauce. Then, everyone gathers around the table to enjoy the delicious hot pot, made with everyone’s contributions!
Hotpot isn’t the only dish on the menu for lunch; you’ll also learn to cook two more delightful dishes to enhance the meal with local flavors (Kung Pao Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork or scrambled egg with tomato; Sauteed soy sauce cabbage or green bean pork).
13:00-14:00 Engaging topics are always discussed at the table. While sipping tea, the hostess will share her personal experiences and would be delighted to hear your stories as well.
