Gubeikou Great Wall

The Great Wall of Gubeikou - Meet the professional trek guide between 7:00 am and 8:00 am in the hotel lobby. You will then be transported directly to the Gubeikou Great Wall (approximately 2.5 hours drive). Upon arrival, you will stroll through a quaint village and farmland before ascending the Gubeikou Great Wall. After a 3 to 4-hour hike, you will reach the 24-hole Guard Tower, the highest point of this section. Additionally, you will encounter historical remnants along the way, such as bullet holes and damages on the Towers, reminiscent of the 1930s. The tour guide will share insights about the history leading up to the Second Sino-Japanese War. Spend a few minutes here to enjoy the breathtaking view. You will then descend to a farmer’s house in the valley for lunch.

After lunch, continue walking towards the West 5-Hole Guard Tower (Xi Wuyanlou) to witness the stunning sunset. Once the sun sets, proceed to Zhuanduokou, where you will exit the Wall. Then, check in at your accommodation (about a 10-minute walk from the Great Wall) and enjoy a delightful Chinese dinner.

Jinshanling Great Wall

Jinshanling Great Wall - After breakfast, follow the guide to explore this section of the Jinshanling Great Wall, known for its complex and well-preserved fortification systems and the largest number of watchtowers. These watchtowers, standing 5-8 meters tall, are constructed from massive bricks, each showcasing a unique architectural style. They are spaced every 50 to 100 meters, with some being half-timbered, some stone, and others featuring one or two eaves. The tower roofs vary greatly, being flat, arched, quadrangular, or octagonal. Jinshanling Great Wall boasts a robust military defense system, including barrier walls, crib walls, blockhouses, emplacements, watch-towers, stone-shooting windows, arrow-shooting holes, and cavalry defense walls, making it highly defensible. Standing on the Jinshanling Great Wall, you will marvel at its grandeur and magnificence.

Next, hike towards the Simatai Great Wall for another 3 hours, reaching the East 5-hole Guard Tower. If you wish to continue, you can hike an additional 800 meters before returning. Then, descend from the Wall and enjoy a delicious lunch before heading back to Beijing. The estimated arrival time at the Beijing hotel is between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm.

This 2-day private trek tour will take you to see the gorgeous Sunset and Sunrise on both sections of the Great Wall if the weather is nice. You will also hike on Jinshanling section on the second day, and it is a exemplary section of the Great Wall and hence comes the saying that the Jinshanling section is the most essential and classic part of the Great Wall. Meals, entrance fees, over night accommodation, private guide and transfer service are all inclusive.
