• Mutianyu Great Wall - Located approximately 70 to 75 kilometers from downtown Beijing, the Mutianyu Great Wall is about a 1.5-hour drive. During holidays and weekends, it is advisable to depart early to avoid traffic and crowds.

  This imperial cemetery spans 40 square kilometers and is the resting place of 13 Ming emperors, 23 empresses, numerous imperial concubines, princes, and princesses. These tombs are the best-preserved of all Chinese imperial tombs, though only three are open to the public. Only one tomb, known as Ding Tomb, features an underground palace, which your driver will take you to visit.
