• Temple of Heaven - Afterwards, visit the Temple of Heaven, situated in the southern part of Beijing, east of Yongdingmennei Street in Dongcheng District. Spanning approximately 2.63 million square meters, the Temple of Heaven was originally constructed in the eighteenth year of Ming Emperor Yongle’s reign (1421) and was later rebuilt during the Qianlong and Guangxu periods of the Qing Dynasty. It served as a sacred site for the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to worship the heavens and pray for bountiful harvests.
