The Mutianyu Great Wall is situated in the northern part of Beijing, approximately 75 kilometers from downtown Beijing or the Beijing Capital Airport. The drive to this location takes about an hour and a half. The Mutianyu Great Wall Tourist Zone is encircled by mountains and offers stunning scenery, often regarded as the most beautiful section of the Great Wall both domestically and internationally. Importantly, it is less crowded. There are 20 watchtowers open to the public. Upon arrival, the tour guide will purchase entrance tickets for visitors (included) and provide a map of the Mutianyu Great Wall. The guide will explain the two different cable car companies: one offers a cable car ride up and down, while the other provides a chairlift up and a toboggan ride down (optional and not included). The guide will also share the history of the Great Wall and accompany visitors as they walk along it. After the visit, guests will be dropped off at their hotel in Beijing or at the Beijing Capital Airport.
