- Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Next, spend a few hours exploring the breathtaking Forbidden City, a remarkable example of Imperial architecture. Delve into the rich history and tales of the palace. Known as the Palace Museum or Gu Gong in Chinese, the Forbidden City is situated in the heart of Beijing and served as the imperial residence for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911AD).
Alternatively, you can simply purchase an entrance ticket to the Forbidden City and use your passport for entry.
- Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - After lunch, proceed to the Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved royal park in China. It significantly influences Chinese horticulture and landscape design with its renowned natural scenery and cultural attractions, earning the title ‘The Museum of Royal Gardens’. Enjoy a boat ride at the Summer Palace (available from April 1st to October 30th) to experience Kunming Lake, disembark at the south-facing island, and exit through a different gate.
Alternatively, you can purchase an entrance ticket to the Summer Palace. A QR code will be sent to you in advance, allowing you to scan and enter freely.

Extremely knowledge and comfortable tour - This was an excellent tour. Picked up right at our hotel. Vivian was an extremely knowledgable guide. Made us feel comfortable the whole way through. There are certain security checks and things you should not bring and she provided us with that information the day before, and then was very helpful to let us know what was coming ahead. During the time of the tour, she asked us what we wanted to do and how long we wanted to take and provided information on all the destinations. I would highly recommend this tour. The driver and vehicle transportation was clean, safe and extremely comfortable.

We booked with Catherine... - We booked with Catherine Lu tours. Jenny was our tour guide. We were trying to get the most out of our brief time in Beijing and they were very flexible and made some great recommendations. The Forbidden City was magnificent and much larger than expected. Jenny was a wealth of information and shared a lot of interesting details that brought the history to life. We rearranged our tour and were able to see forbidden city and temple of heaven, walk through the Hutong streets and even see an acrobatics show in the evening that was incredible. Lunch was delicious and we were driven in a new modern comfortable van. Highly recommend this experience to see some of the premiere sights of Beijing.

A great day in Beijing - Justin helped me to have a fantastic day in Beijing. He was organized, informed and provided a structure where i still felt like i could spend more or less time in places, depending on what was interesting to me. Thank you for your help, and the dinner recommendations you gave me for afterwards!

Dream views !! Highly recommended for the whole community - On our tour we were with Iris, very friendly and friendly. Iris, our guide, took care of all our preferences and explained in Spanish the whole visit (including lunch meals).

Highly recommend the tour with May - We had an amazing tour with May. She was very knowledgeable and spent the whole day with us. She even accommodated a last minute request to go to a temple. We had a great christmas with May! I would definitely recommend this tour. Lunch was also delicious.

Amazing experience, knowledgeable and reliable guides - Everything about my one day private tour with Catherine lu Tours was amazing. The pre tour communication was clear with Jenny meeting me at the hotel as planned with her driver in a clean and comfortable modern car visiting Tian'anmen square, Forbidden city, Hutong's and Temple of Heaven. Jenny my guide was knowledgable, answered all my questions, my personal photographer catching all the perfect moments and our driver was always there when we were ready to move to next destination.
Catherine Lu tours are a amazing company to deal with, always returning my messages within 24 hours, I booked a private tours in Shanghai with Cathy, Xian with Ricky and Beijing with Jenny, highly recommend all my guides as all knowledgeable and reliable. All fees including lunch were included in my initial quote, I strongly believe that you get so much more information with a guided tour than trying to navigate by yourself.
