Much more enjoyable with a guide. - Our guide gave us lots of valuable information and told us different legends of Mont Saint Michel. Our guide was very articulate in both English and French.

Book this tour - This was an amazing tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and added so much personality into the storytelling. I would recommend this tour to anyone who would like great insight to the Abbey and surrounding town. What a great time!

First time at Mont-Saint-Michel - I had a great time with this tour. The tour guide Alice was amazing and helped make the tour a little better experience by changing the trip a little to help two people I’m traveling with mobility issues. I would highly recommend this tour. Alice was also VERY knowledgeable about the history of Mont-Saint-Michel.

Up, Down and all Around and no Place of Consequence - Since we had already explored the Abbey for FREE on the previous Sunday, we gave away those tickets to another couple. The 2 hour guided tour was actually a disappointment because all we did was go up, and down so many sets of stairways that I lost count. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason, no cohesiveness to all of these stairways. I wanted to see the area of the crypts, which were built first, and which were the foundation that the Abbey was built upon. In order to understand the history of the Abbey, that needed to be explained first. I felt that was not done, and since I needed my walking sticks in order to maneuver all of those steps, which took us to general places that we had already been, I was not impressed. Our group was fairly small, which was good, and the admission fee was not exorbitant, so that was good also. Out of all of that, there were only 3 places of interest to me that explained historical events, so that is why I have given a 3 out of 5.

I was surprised that this... - I was surprised that this tour still had to go is the queue to take the shuttle from visitor center to the Abbey. That took about 20 minutes in line. That said our tour guide was able to provide a lot of information about the tides and the history while we waited.

Not worth the $. This is not a 2-hour tour! - Disappointing tour for several reasons. The first 40+ minutes of the “tour” are spent waiting in line to take the shuttle to MSM. This is not a skip-the-line tour. You are waiting in line with all the other tourists going to MSM that day. Second, we booked an English language tour, but our group included both English and French speakers so we had 50% less time with our guide as she needed to relay each bit of info in two languages. Finally, during our 80-ish minute walk around the island, we got information and anecdotes but the presentation seemed haphazard. During our self-guided tour inside the abbey, we ran into the couple we had met the day before on a WWII sites tour. After comparing our MSM tours, it was clear that they had a vastly better experience with the company they chose.
