A Place Worth Visiting - This place is pretty awesome, and pretty complete as far as kazoos and simple folk instruments go. We went for the tour with another couple and found we were surrounded by a group of very well-behaved kindergarteners. The tour guide was adept at explaining the origins and workings of the various kazoos and noisemakers, and quite skilled at playing them. Then we went into the factory and watched them demonstrate how they build their kazoos, and we each put one together to take home. The museum is full of interesting panels explaining kazoos through history to modern times, and the gift shop is chock full of interesting items, inching most of those demonstrated. I finally got a hand-made wooden kazoo to complete my collection.

A fun and unique experience - We weren't sure what to expect, but we had a great time. We toured the Kazoo Museum while we waited for our tour to start. It was interesting to see the history, and learn how many performers have used them. Paul was our tour guide a virtuoso on the kazoo. We watched two videos. Paul demonstrated the different types of kazoos, different sounds, and attachments for the kazoo. It is the only manufacturer of kazoos in the United States. The factory part of the tour is minimal. The body of the kazoo is manufactured in nearby Pageland. The resonators and the caps are added to the body by hand. The kazoos are weighed rather than counted for shipments. They make about a million kazoos a year. At the end you get to assemble your own kazoo. There is an American flag made of over 2,300 kazoos and caps hanging on the wall. The flag was assembled in the factory. It was so heavy they had to use a forklift to lift. It was too large to fit through the door from the factory to the display area, so they had to bring it in through the front doors. It was a fun visit, and one we highly recommend.

Paul was a great guide and kazoo player - Had a great visit to a very unusual museum with a great guide named Paul. Fun and interesting but Paul definitely made it extra special. There were six of us from 16 years to 78 years old. We were all quite pleased with taking a chance and visiting this place while visiting the Beaufort area.

Friendly staff and awesome guide! Also kazoos are so fun!! - PAUL IS AN AMAZING GUIDE! I went with my boyfriend as we found out about the kazoo factory from bible study the night prior and we had a blast (Literally. We bought a train whistle). At the end of your tour you also get to create your own kazoo! Highly recommend if you have a good 1 1/2 hours chunk of time to kill -- Beth&Noah
