- Arromanches-les-Bains - OPTION 2H ENGLISH SECTOR, HALF DAY AND FULL DAY
Your guide will take you to Arromanches-les-Bains. This beach was pivotal during the Battle of Normandy, immediately following D-Day on June 6, 1944, when the Allies established Mulberry Port B, a temporary artificial port to facilitate the landing of heavy equipment, without waiting for the capture of deep-water ports like Le Havre or Cherbourg (Cherbourg-en-Cotentin since 2016). Although situated in the center of the Gold Beach landing zone, Arromanches was spared the intense fighting on D-Day.
To ensure the swift installation and operation of the harbor, the beach was preserved, and nearby communication routes were maintained. English troops landed further east, between Asnelles and Ver-sur-Mer, and liberated Arromanches by land on the evening of June 6. The port was operational by June 14.
- Longues-sur-Mer - OPTION 2H ENGLISH SECTOR, HALF DAY AND FULL DAY
The Longues-sur-Mer battery is part of the Atlantic Wall defenses, located in the coastal municipality of Longues-sur-Mer in Calvados. The site comprised four long-range 150 mm naval guns, each protected by a reinforced concrete casemate, along with various facilities to serve and defend them. The battery was positioned in the Normandy Allied landing zone between Omaha Beach and Gold Beach and was heavily bombarded by air and naval forces, preventing it from fully engaging on D-Day. Classified as a Historic Monument, it is well-preserved and has become a popular stop during visits to the landing sites.
- Port-en-Bessin-Huppain - OPTION 2H US SECTOR, HALF DAY AND FULL DAY
On June 8, 1944, during Operation Overlord, the 47th Royal Marines Commando liberated Port-en-Bessin. By June 16, 1944, it served as the head of a 120 km pipeline system designed to supply the Allied armies with fuel. By the end of August 1944, this system was enhanced by Operation Pluto, which involved laying pipelines between the Isle of Wight and Querqueville near Cherbourg.
- Omaha Beach - OPTION 2H US SECTOR, HALF DAY AND FULL DAY
Omaha Beach remains one of the most iconic D-Day landing sites, rich in historical significance. Here, you will stand on the sands where thousands of American soldiers bravely landed amidst intense gunfire and artillery barrages. Your guide will share moving stories about the challenges faced by the soldiers during this fierce battle. En route to the beach, take a moment to honor the memorials and reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who fought here.
- Cimetière Américain de Colleville-sur-Mer - OPTION 2H US SECTOR, HALF DAY AND FULL DAY
The American Cemetery and Memorial in Normandy, perched on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach, is a poignant and deeply moving tribute to the fallen soldiers. As you stroll among the rows of white marble crosses and Stars of David, you will feel a profound sense of gratitude and respect for those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. Your guide will share stories of the individuals resting here and offer insights into the significant impact of their sacrifices on the course of history.
During the low season, the cemetery closes early. Any tour starting at 4 pm will make visiting the cemetery impossible.
Please note that from the year 2026, visits to the Omaha Cemetery cannot be guaranteed.
- Pointe du Hoc - ONLY FOR THE 6H OPTION
Pointe du Hoc became a crucial strategic site during the Allied landings in Normandy on June 6, 1944. Situated between Utah Beach to the west and Omaha Beach to the east, this area was heavily fortified by the Germans (WN 751). Allied aerial reconnaissance revealed the presence of formidable long-range artillery, posing a threat to the two nearby beaches. The rapid neutralization of these guns was deemed essential to the success of the landings. Explore this historically rich site where bravery and strategy played a key role in liberation.
