PRETTY ISLAND - Islam Saona a paradise. We went to the beach of the Flamencos, then to the town of Mano Juan, to the sanctuary of the turtles, to the beach of Canto, which is the farthest but the pity that had sargassum, and finally we went to the natural pools to look at starfish and bars. Great excursion!

10/10 Soana Island Trip - Alex and Mickey were the absolute best. Alex is an amazing tour guide and very knowledgeable about his country. He made us feel very comfortable throughout the entire journey. This was an amazing trip and not as long as we expected based off of some of the other reviews! Definitely book this trip!

Visit to Saona - The trip was good but the food at the island was “mid”… too many groups arriving at the same time and getting in line to get lunch. Also, the beach, even though it was beautiful the parts where the water was deep enough to get in was too crowded. The catamaran was awesome, just that we had it on the way to the island… would had been better if it was on the way back

Consider a half day trip of something else, this will take up your ENTIRE DAY! - For taking the HARD ROCK TIMESHARE TOUR - We did get a trip to Saona Island valued at $150/pp. We also got a couples massage at $25/each, for our time. BEWARE - the Saona Island tour is NOT 9 hours, it was almost 12 HOURS BY THE TIME WE RETURNED TO HR. Also, for someone that doesn't love boat rides, after driving 1.5 hours, we jumped on 1 of 3 different boats we would be taking for the day. THIS INFO WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT TO HAVE when making our decision! Food on the tour sucked, and like always, there are people peddling jewelry, massages, braiding hair, etc. NOT EXACTLY a relaxing day. Also, despite requesting the tour guide, Orlando to speak English, he didn't. It was 85% Spanish and 15% TOPS English, and that's after you request the info he was dishing out. BEWARE THE PHOTOGRAPHERS - I GOT SCAMMED $89 FOR THE DIGITAL PICTURE PACKAGE I TOOK WHILE ON THE BOAT. I HAD TO DISPUTE IT WITH MY BANK YESTERDAY. SUCH A BUMMER. I TOLD MY FRIENDS I WOULD HANDLE THE PHOTOS... AND THEY NEVER CAME TO MY EMAIL. THEY DID TAKE MY MONEY WITHIN MINUTES THOUGH! GOEYPICTURES.COM

Worse than Gillian’s island. A 13 tour to spend 90 min on a beautiful beach with 300 of your new best friends. - I would out this right up there with a trip to the DMW. Yes it was that bad. Where should we start? I can sum the entire trip up in one sentence; an overpriced, poor value and complete waste of 14 hours of your trip.
Enjoy getting up at 6 am to catch your bus which, the concierge will make it seem like it’s some group… it’s not. You take one crowded bus to drive to the NEXT bus (30 min) and then are on a greyhound like bus for 45 min until you get to a highway rest stop. Be prepared to pay $4.00 (US) for a bottle of water. Things you could actually need for this trip aren’t on sale but they have ever been imaginable and a wide selection of condoms. This is just wheee the “fun” begins. The driver corrals the 50
Plus people In your “exclusive” trip back onto the bus for another 45 min. We get to where the FIRST boat will pick us up. It’s 10. We board a small vessel to take us to the larger catamaran. The catamaran is not comfortable for being at sea for a 90 min trip. Hopefully you like rot gum rum, local Coca Cola or “lime” (super sugary version of sprite)…. Oh and there’s cold water…. The crew listlessly tries to get the fellow passengers to dance to a bizarro mix of reggaeton, hip hop, country music and regular reggae. Much like the trio the music was a rollercoaster ride of distorted sound coming out of blown speakers. Speaking of blowing out equipment. One of our engines on the boat blew about 20 min in. I saw a kayaker pas us and stared longingly at the island which we would be at in “10 minutes”. It’s now 12.30 for those keeping score at home (and do stay at home. Or your resort. Just not here).
As your bus comes to a stop it’s like watching ants proceed to the ant hill while being harassed by locals selling trinkets. No means no, everywhere but this beach. Now the best part, literally. The food. It was a nice mix of Dominican fare and the people working there are actually very nice. Hurry up and eat because you get 90 min at the beach. Which- was insanely beautiful. All that “exploring” and “sightseeing” you were led to believe you’d do. Nope. The beach. For 90 min. Then you take your boat at 2 to a “famous swimming hole”. It was another beach exactly like the one we left 45 min earlier. Twenty minutes here. Then back on the boat for a 90 minutes annoying trip home with families including your drunk uncle you didn’t get the memo that yes the rum is free but no it’s not college. If your trip couldn’t reach more heights- you then get back to the “big bus” at, and no I’m not joking at 6.30. It’s dinner. We get offered chips. For $2. They then try to upsell you with rum, photos etc and the bus isn’t moving. Because apparently the local people come on the bus to sell their crap snd give you guilt trips if you don’t want to buy their stuff- when all you wanted was to be home by dinner. Nope.
Now the fun starts. The bus ride home. You would think the driver/dj would get the memo by the kids falling asleep but no! More rum and reggaeton. It’s now 8.30 and you arrive back at your hotel - realizing you just dropped $300 to get some off center photos and go to this amazing. Each for 90 min. We could’ve sailed to Puetro Rico and back.- but we didn’t. We went on this trip. Avoid. Like the plague.
