Into the Heart of the Desert

As the first rays of dawn broke over Cairo, I found myself eagerly anticipating the journey ahead. The bustling city slowly faded into the background as our air-conditioned private car whisked us away towards the Bahariya Oasis. The four-hour drive, spanning 150 miles, was a serene prelude to the adventure that awaited us. The transition from the urban sprawl to the tranquil desert was a reminder of the diverse landscapes that Egypt has to offer.

Our guide, Magdy, was a beacon of warmth and knowledge. His punctuality and politeness set the tone for the day. As a wildlife photographer, I often find myself in remote locations, but the Black Desert was unlike anything I had ever seen. The dark volcanic hills, remnants of ancient eruptions, stood in stark contrast to the golden sands.
