Batu Caves - What to Expect at the Batu Caves: As you approach, you’ll be greeted by a magnificent golden statue of Lord Murugan. This statue, erected in 2006, is the largest in the world dedicated to the deity and stands as a sentinel to the 272 steps leading to the cave entrances. Along the way, resting points offer lovely views of Kuala Lumpur’s suburbs. Important Information Before Visiting Batu Caves: Admission is free, and the caves are open year-round from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The area is not very accessible for those with mobility issues, so senior visitors may find the stairs challenging. The wild caves are quite muddy, so bring a change of clothes if you plan to join a spelunking tour. Outside the entrance, you’ll find stalls and restaurants serving Indian cuisine. Please bring a shawl or something to cover your knees, as shorts are not allowed. If needed, shawls are available for MYR15 at Batu Caves.

The palace complex spans 97.65 hectares, features 22 domes, and is divided into three main sections: the Formal Component, Royal Component, and Administration Component. Visitors cannot enter but can take photos from outside.

National Mosque (Masjid Negara) - The National Mosque of Malaysia, located in Kuala Lumpur, can accommodate 15,000 people and is set amidst 13 acres of gardens. The mosque’s design is reminiscent of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, with abstract shapes and geometric lattice in its roofing and ironworks. The Grand Hall is the most intricate part, adorned with verses from the Koran. Non-Muslims are welcome to visit.

Merdeka Square - Merdeka Square, also known as Dataran Merdeka, is Kuala Lumpur’s most famous landmark. Situated in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, it is flanked by the Royal Selangor Club and St. Mary’s Church, one of Malaysia’s oldest Anglican churches. Within Kuala Lumpur’s colonial core, Merdeka Square is a vast field with manicured lawns and the world’s tallest flagpole (95m), proudly displaying the Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag). Despite changes over the years, Kuala Lumpur retains its majestic charm with Merdeka Square at its heart. The 200m-long padang is the most renowned green space in KL, where Malaysia declared independence on August 31st, 1957.

Central Market Kuala Lumpur - Central Market is a well-known landmark and popular tourist spot in Kuala Lumpur. Built in 1928, it is a short walk from Petaling Street, along Jalan Hang Kasturi. Also known as Pasar Seni, it was transformed from a wet market into a handicrafts outlet in the early 1980s. A hub for the city’s artistic community, the building houses boutiques, handicraft, and souvenir stalls selling local items like authentic Malaysian batik prints. Central Market is an art-deco style building with local ‘Baroque’ details, located opposite the Dayabumi Complex.

Petronas Twin Towers - The Petronas Towers, also known as the Petronas Twin Towers or KLCC Twin Towers, are 88-storey skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, standing at 451.9 meters (1,483 feet). From 1998 to 2003, they were the tallest buildings in the world until surpassed by Taipei 101 in 2004.
