The tour continues with a private walking tour in the centre of Bath. Your guide, who was born and grew up in Bath, will show you all of the city’s famous landmarks and will tell you interesting stories about these and the city. You will also be shown the location of the city’s hot springs - without these Bath would not be the city that it is today.
During the tour there will not be time to go inside any of the museums in Bath e.g. the Roman Baths but your guide will happily point these out and give you some insider tips should you wish to visit these during your stay.
At the end of the Bath tour you will have a stop for lunch before continuing to Stonehenge.

- Pulteney Bridge - Built in the 1700s Pulteney Bridge is a famous landmark in Bath. You will discover what makes this bridge so famous.
- Bath Abbey - You will hear about the fascinating history behind the Bath Abbey.
- The Roman Baths - You will hear about the Roman’s impact on Bath and the famous Roman Baths. We do not go inside the Roman Baths Museum.
- Thermae Bath Spa - You will be shown the location of the city’s hot springs and Bath’s modern spa. Should you wish to visit the Thermae Bath Spa during your stay your guide will give you some useful tips.
- The Jane Austen Centre - During the tour you will hear about the connection between Bath and a famous English author: Jane Austen. Your guide will point out the Jane Austen Centre which fans of Jane Austen may like to visit during their stay.
- The Circus - You will visit the beautiful Circus which has an interesting connection to Stonehenge.
- No. 1 Royal Crescent - You will also visit the magnificent Royal Crescent.
- Stonehenge - After lunch you will be driven to Stonehenge.
At Stonehenge your private guide will take you on a tour of the ancient stone circle. Your guide will explain about its history, how archaeologists believe it was constructed and will tell you interesting stories behind the site. There will be plenty of opportunities for photos.
- Bath - At the end of the tour you will be taken back to your accommodation in Bath/the Bath railway station. The journey will take approximately 50 minutes.

Stonehenge Up Close - I 100% recommend Daniel and his team for your very exclusive Stonehenge tour. I was able to get the inner circle experience and let’s just say today was unforgettable. I have never been so close to a UNESCO world heritage site before. Dan was kind and thoughtful and as 3rd Gen Bath local, he knew everything there is to know about Bath. My sister asked for digestives as a souvenir from England… I couldn’t find them at the local Tesco so Daniel was kind enough to drive me to a supermarket! This is above and beyond. Five Stars all around. If you’re traveling solo, you’re definitely gonna love the experience.

The best guide we’ve ever had — warm, funny and brilliant - We had an absolutely incredible day with Daniel Hancock (Bath Insider) — hands down the best guide we’ve ever had.
Daniel picked us up from our hotel early in the morning and drove us to Stonehenge for an Inner Circle experience on a cold, wintry day. He was an exceptionally calm, safe driver (important for me, as I get car sick very easily). He came prepared with a variety of hot beverages and mugs, which was such a thoughtful touch on a cold morning! On the drive, he shared background on Stonehenge in a way that was informative, interesting and fun — Daniel is charming, authentic, and so easy to be around.
At Stonehenge, he guided us through the Inner Circle with great detail, pointing out tiny, fascinating elements we never would have noticed on our own. He was clearly committed to making it a special experience, took lots of great photos for us, and the whole time it felt less like a “tour” and more like spending time with a knowledgeable (and hilarious) friend.
After Stonehenge, he dropped us back at our hotel, and then met us again a few hours later for a Bridgerton Film Tour in Bath. He blended Bridgerton insights with interesting Bath history throughout, and he was especially thoughtful with our teenage daughter, making sure she was included and engaged in every conversation.
By the end of the day, we were all genuinely sad to say goodbye. He really made the day so amazing! If you’re considering a trip to Stonehenge and/or Bath, book with Daniel — we truly could not recommend him strongly enough!

Incredible tour and guide - Our first day with Bath Insider Tours (Dan) was incredible. He guided us on a walking tour of Bath where we learned Bath’s long and interesting history. He shared facts and folklore and took us to a Roman bath where we got to try the hot spring water. Our time there was incredibly interesting and Dan made it fun - no dry history from Dan! He even took us into a local cheese monger shop so we could try the cheese with special crackers developed in Bath.
Dan was happy to stop and let us buy a Bath Bun in one of shops as his story about them intrigued us and we wanted to give it a try.
On our way to Stonehenge, Dan took us to a 700 year old pub for lunch. There he shared incredibly helpful information about ordering, eating, and paying for a meal in an English establishment.
Stonehenge was glorious and Dan sharing an overview of what is known about Stonehenge was fascinating.
Dan is a safe and thoughtful driver. He is very prepared and organized, but more than willing to adjust to meet his clients’ needs and wants. Dan is the BEST of the BEST. Do yourself a huge favor and book a tour with Bath Insider Tours.

Bath and Stonehenge tour with Daniel - Daniel was excellent ,his knowledge of the area really brought everything together,as far as learning and really soaking in the history of the area.Very personable and enjoyable,we took a family tour and my boys 18 and 21 really enjoyed talking to Daniel and "hanging out" with him.Loved the visit to the local cheesemonger and sampling the the authentic cheddar cheese..All in all a lovely experience.

Go back in time with these amazing sites and a great guide! - What a great find ! Daniel fit us in on short notice for an amazing afternoon to see not one but two Neolithic sites as well as the surrounding countryside. We visited the hidden gem Avebury - a Neolithic monument & Unesco World Heritage site plus the better known Stonehenge- the historical landmark. I highly recommend seeing both to truly understand the significance. Daniel was easy going, bright & knowledgeable- charming and a terrific guide. We not only learned so much but had a good time doing so! Young & old are in good hands with him! Enjoy - we sure did.

Stonehenge private tour - Daniel took us on the most amazing tour of Stonehenge. He was gracious, knowledgeable, attentive and made our visit absolutely memorable. His depth of knowledge about Bath and Stonehenge is super, from anthropology to culture, done with humour and good nature. The 4 hour private tour went by too fast, and we look forward to visiting Bath again on another itinerary.

The best private tour of Bath that you’ll find! - Daniel did a fantastic job telling the story of his hometown and introducing us to many of its highlights. He packed the tour with a ton of information and made sure that we saw all the prime photo spots as well as several filming locations within Bath. The pub we stopped at for lunch had delicious fare, and his tour of Stonehenge was outstanding. He was an extremely courteous and informative guide who really took the time to cater his tour to us and our interests. He even gave us some great recommendations for local businesses and restaurants to check out. I highly recommend Bath Insider Tours for anyone looking for a fun, personalized private tour. You could not possibly find a better guide!

Bath and Stonehenge - We visited the lovely city of Bath in sometime torrential rain, but had the most wonderful tour with Daniel in spite of the weather. Then off to Stonehenge, which is a wonder! Still a messy day, but Daniel adapted to the situation perfectly and provided a great experience.

If you want to have a great tour - BOOK WITH DANIEL!!! - I really don't have the words for how amazing Daniel was. I booked the Bath and Stonehenge tour with the Salisbury Cathedral add on for day one and the South Cotswolds with the Mamesbury Abbey for day two. Our group consisted of 5 adults ranging ages 40 - 79. He is so incredibly knowledgeable about all things Bath, was super helpful in advising other things to do, hot spots to visit, where to eat and just generally adjusting itineraries so we could pack in as much as possible. All that being said, it really was the extra care and attention that he gave my parents to make sure they were doing ok with the walking and stairs, that lunch stops were extra careful with food allergies, checked in frequently on bathroom needs, etc that really puts Daniel at THE TOP of tour guides I have experienced, and he is genuinely an exceptional human being. If you are thinking about booking with him - don't hesitate - he will NOT disappoint.

My husband I luckily had Daniel Hancock of Bath Insider Tours acquaint us with the city of Bath on an informative walking tour. Daniel was born and raised in Bath, so he has a deep connection with its history and its iconic beauty. He conveyed information lightheartedly and with good humor.
The following morning Daniel took us on a lovely drive to Stonehenge. This prehistoric site has been a part of Daniel’s personal history and he enhanced our visit with photos he’d collected or taken himself over the years.
Daniel does several private tours in Bath area and I highly recommend him!
