Excellent overview of the festivals, venues, bands and gigs that shaped Bath music since the early 1960s - Shaun gave us an excellent overview of Bath’s music history, with some fun bonuses like chatting to a vintage store owner who’s had her shop since 1967! After learning all about the distant past during our long UK trip, it was nice to hear about some of Bath’s recent past from a guide who’s lived it.
Of course, if you’re a Tears for Fears fan you’ll be giddy the entire time, but this tour is much more comprehensive than just the Tears pieces.
Thank you Shaun!

Rock n Stroll Tours - A Must for all Music Lovers. - Yesterday my partner and I booked ourselves onto the Rock n Stroll Tours Bath. These tours started running this year and are already attracting much attention from music lovers from far and wide. The guides are either Shaun Smith or John Baker. Both are Bathonians with strong connections to the city and the music scene. Shaun is a local musician with years of experience and is also brother to Curt Smith from Tears for Fears. John has been playing music since the late 70s. I first saw him at Bath Tiffanys in 1980 with Graduate - his band mates included Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal. He is now playing with the Korgis (well worth seeing if you get the chance). John was our very informative and knowledgeable guide yesterday. We spent a couple of fascinating hours in the sunshine wandering around Bath while John pointed out many buildings and areas steeped in Bath music history. I love anything music related so this was my idea of an afternoon well spent. John is very happy to answer questions. I am resisting the temptation to share any of the stories and snippets of information because I would urge everyone to go and find out for themselves but would add that there is much to see and learn! The tour starts at the tree on Abbey Green and culminates at the Bell on Walcott Street. John very graciously joined us for a pint at the Bell and signed my Graduate record. To sum up we had a great afternoon and would not hesitate to recommend this tour.

The only tour of Baths amazing musical history, great fun and not to be missed. Great stories and lots of laughs! - An absolutely fantastic experience! Enjoyable, educational, our tour guide was amazing with a wealth of knowledge and some very funny trivia. I was involved in the Bath music scene back in the early 80's so there was a heap of nostalgia thrown in for good measure, some of it quite moving. I can't recommend these guys highly enough. If you're going to be in Bath then just do it, it's a 'must do', you'll love every minute! Thank you guys for a wonderful couple of hours. xx

An amazing music stroll through Bath! - We visited Bath on 7/13/25 and did the Rock n Stroll tour with John Baker from Graduate and the Korgi’s. It was an amazing experience to walk with John and learn all about the music scene in Bath - especially the Tears For Fears history and all the other bands that have performed there. I won’t put any spoilers here - but it’s totally worth it! Bath is a beautiful town and I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn about Bath’s music history, or even just the town itself! John knows his stuff and was very friendly and helpful. :)

Fantastic Tour – A Highlight of Our Trip to Bath! - This was our first time visiting Bath, and the Rock' n Stroll tour was the absolute highlight! We weren’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be amazing. It’s the perfect mix of music, history, and fun.
Our guide, John, was brilliant — knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about Bath's music history. He brought the stories to life and made the whole experience really enjoyable from start to finish.
If you’re visiting Bath and want something a little different from the usual sightseeing, this tour is a must. We learned so much and had a great time doing it. Highly recommended!

Thank you John for a memorable tour - What a fabulous way to spend a sunny Sunday. This tour which finished off at The Bell pub, is a must for any fans of pop/rock music. We couldn't believe the number of links that Bath has to icons & legends in the music world. Tears for Fears, Fleetwood Mac, Van Morrison, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, The Beatles...to name just a few.
John was an incredibly engaging, knowledgeable & entertaining tour guide. His personal anecdotal stories brought the tour alive.
We're looking forward to going on the tour again & seeing John perform with his band 'The Korgis' at Chapels Arts in Bath.
