Timothy Hill - Timothy Hill is a renowned tourist attraction celebrated for its breathtaking panoramic views. Located on the southeast peninsula of St. Kitts, this overlook offers a stunning 360-degree view of the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, the island of Nevis, and the hilly peninsula itself.
One of the most captivating aspects of Timothy Hill is the unique vantage point it provides, where visitors can see the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. This makes it a perfect spot for photography and simply soaking in the natural beauty of the island. The overlook is easily accessible when driving from Basseterre towards Cockleshell Beach. It’s a favourite among visitors for its panoramic views and is often included in various island tours. While it can get a bit crowded, the views are definitely worth it!
- South Friars Beach - Friars Beach: Journey towards Frigate Bay, the hotel, villas, and restaurant zone, where hotel guests enjoy all the amenities offered. Next, a drive uphill towards Timothy Hill will include a short stop for some picture-taking. Looking out from this hill will give you stunning, picturesque, camera-worthy shots of the tip of St. Kitts, with the Caribbean Sea on the right and the Atlantic Ocean on the left. Certainly a photographic moment.
Finally, your friendly guide will drop you off at Friars Beach for your two-hour relaxation. This is perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun or swimming in clear turquoise water. Rent beach chairs, umbrellas, or water sports equipment. Upon arrival, pay for a chair, umbrellas, etc., at the entrance. The beach house has washrooms, and you can also enjoy the local cuisine and refreshing drinks.
Certainly a day of cultural and historical interactions and beach therapy. Remember your sunscreen and stay hydrated while having fun.
- Romney Manor - Option 2: Romney Manor, set on approximately 8 acres, dates back to the 1600s. Prior to the island’s European conquest in 1623, there is strong evidence that Carib Indian Chief Tegreman’s village occupied the site. Petroglyphs located on the Wingfield Estate attest to the presence of Amerindians during the property’s history. Most of the activity on the property has been growing & distilling sugar cane. Over the years, its owners have witnessed the crushing of cane by animals, water, and steam power. This all changed in the 1920s as cane processing became centralized in the nation’s capital, Basseterre. The Wingfield Estate grew, harvested, and loaded sugar cane until the mid-2000s, that’s 350 years! Romney Manor became a batik enterprise in the 1970s under the tutelage of its current owner. A favourite is our magnificent Saman tree, the largest living organism in St. Kitts. It is over 400 years old, 24 ft in circumference, and covers ½ acre. Imagine the stories it can tell.
