Bucket list trek through gorgeous rainforest to spectacular view! - This climb was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done (besides childbirth), but it was well worth the effort! DJ was awesome and took great care of us, coaching me on where to put my feet and hands in tricky sections, and giving us breaks when we needed them. He even provided energy drinks and freshly baked banana bread for sustenance. Can’t recommend this tour enough!!

The best hike in St Kitts! - We were not scheduled to hike with Janeel but with a little luck we were added to his small group tour to hike the volcano!
Janeel is a very personable and knowledgeable guide. He made sure that we made the challenging hike, up and down the volcano, safely!
We were treated to the clouds lifting when we made it to the top and witnessed a beautiful marriage proposal for which Janeel took on the role of videographer!
Janeel answered all our questions about St Kitts and because we had some time he kindly drove us to a viewing point to see both the Atlantic and Caribbean seas.
We had an unforgettable day with Janeel and would not hesitate to recommend him and his team for all your hiking and excursion needs when visiting St Kitts!

Please make sure you do this hike! - Janeel was the man. Everything from start to finish was perfectly as described and he was super generous with everything. I lumped a surprise proposal on him with a days notice and he went to every length to get special things sorted which I could not have asked more from him. He was super knowledgable with everything St Kitts, and speedy too. Because we were so ahead of schedule, he took us to a viewpoint on the other side of the island within the allotted time which again - was just above and beyond. If you are going on a cruise which does not take you up this volcano within their excursion, or visiting for any other reason, This hike with this company is worth every penny and more. As I said at the start; Janeel was the man.

Best volcano hike, don’t hesitate to book! - The Liamuiga hike was a challenging, but awesome experience. The trail starts as moderate, but becomes difficult with lots of climbing over roots and rocks. You definitely need good a fitness level and appropriate clothing to complete this hike. If you are planning to do it, don’t try it on your own, but book with Janeel! Janeel was our driver and Jacquan was our guide and both of them were wonderful! We would not have been able to do this hike without them, so we are grateful for their help.

Difficult But Rewarding - Let me begin by saying that our tour operator, Janeel, and our guide, Djae, were amazing. Janeel was excellent at communicating everything we needed to know about the hike and pick up time. I can't say enough about Djae. He was an excellent guide who not only pointed out where to place our hands and feed on the more technical parts of the trail, he took time to point out and discuss the various plants and trees along the way. First and foremost, Djae had his focus on our physical wellbeing and made sure we were safe, hydrated, and taking breaks.
This volcano hike is no joke. It is strenuous and it is not uncommon for people turn back at the midway point. Wear hiking shoes if you have them and bring plenty of water and snacks. Be prepared to get dirty. The payoff is the fantastic view from the top. Turns put Djae is also a decent photographer, too!!

Sporty tour under green canopy... - Sporty tour in a small group with the two great guides Jacquan & Djae from JB Tours.
Exactly as described in the tour, it goes uphill and the path changes to a real (beautiful sporty) scrambling over stones and roots often steeply uphill. The ground is often slippery, sometimes narrow. This is where sure-footedness is needed. This should not be underestimated!
It goes through great nature under a mostly closed canopy. There is only a view at the crater rim.
Along the way you will learn a lot about nature and the people from the guides.
Organizationally everything was perfect. When booking by email and two days before the tour in parallel via WhatsApp. Exact meeting point close to the berth was described.
Thank you again. (But only after the sore muscles 😉)
Thanks to the Giudes Jacquan & Djae

Volcano hike - I hiked the volcano on Tuesday. It was challenging but I was determined to make it to the top. Shout out to Janeel for motivating me and for never giving on me when I wanted to.

Conquering Mount Kiamuiga: The Volcano Hike - My wife and I decided to take this hike while we were visiting St Kitts in late October 2025 (a great time to visit, IMHO). Our ages are 66 and 62, so we were a little concerned after looking at some of the reviews that it would be too difficult to complete, but were assured by Janeel, who runs the tour, that we could complete the journey after learning we’re pretty active (tennis, daily cardio , etc).
Full disclosure: as the day approached, I had some trepidation about our ability to finish, because it’s warm (84 deg F) and HUMID on the island ….. pretty much year round. We’ve been to Aruba seven times, and while it’s warmer, there’s also a much more consistent breeze that cuts the humidity noticeably. We decided, though, to give it a shot.
The pre trip information provided by Janeel was spot on, though it could’ve emphasized the need to bring a salty snack, but nevertheless, FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS. Eat a good breakfast, bring water (we brought four 21 oz bottles), and a salty snack. The tour provides water as well, and a Lucazadr juice bottle (which helped a LOT), and a raisin roll. Again: FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS.
The day of the hike, Janeel, Djae, and Sunshine picked us and another couple taking the hike as well with us at our respective hotels in a nice van that has great air conditioning. This is important after the hike. We had lots of great conversation on the way to the volcano, which was nice given the age difference (we were twice+ the age of the other couple and the guides).
This age difference became more apparent once we set off on the hike - there are eight “stages” going up the volcano, and on the very first stage the younger folks moved significantly faster than we did, but the guides divvied up coverage, so we were never alone. They did a FANTASTIC job with this bit up and down the volcano.
Full disclosure #2: after the second and third stages were complete, I did think we were going to complete the journey. There is obviously a VERY physical component to this hike, but the mental component for me was as much if not more stressful for me and my wife. This is where Janeel stepped in and really shined. He pushed, he encouraged, he pushed some more, and he encouraged a LOT more.
The key for me was breaking down the stages. We pushed on after stages two and three, and when we completed stages four, I said to my wife, “We’re halfway. In another 40 or 45 minutes, we’ll be through stage six. That’s 75%. Then we’ve GOT this.” There is no chance - ZERO - that I could have said that without the encouragement provided by Janeel, Djae, or Sunshine. None.
And we did get to the top, which was spectacular (pics attached) and so exhilarating. 90 minutes or so before, i thought we had no chance, and we made it!!! And then we had the journey back down, where the phrase “butt down” took on new meaning for us. I can say this with absolute certainty: if Janeel says to step right, do so. If he tells you to step left, do so. If he tells you to climb hand over hand on all fours up tree roots, do so. If he tells you to stand on your right foot, lift your left foot 12” inches the air, cross your eyes, and sing “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang?
Do so. Maybe I made that last one up, but the point is, this team of fantastic guides will get you up and down the volcano if you listen to them and follow their directions. My wife and I now have a “lifetime memory” thanks to them. Highly recommended.

Challenging and great fun - My girlfriend and I hiked mount Liamuiga to the volcano crater and had an amazing time! The whole team of Janeel, Sunshine & Djae were incredible. Very friendly and supportive. Even if you're not the most confident hiker they make it a very enjoyable experience as they're very patient and encouraging. Particular shout out to Djae, without him my girlfriend would still be up the mountain!

Great experience climbing Mount Liamuiga - Djae was very informative and helpful throughout the whole experience. They told us interesting facts about the city while driving to the hike and the nature on the hike. During the trickier portions of the climb, Djae would tell us exactly how to do it in the safest way both up and down the trail. Djae even helped hikers from a different tour group when they lost sight of their guide. This hike is not easy, and you definitely need a guide, and these guys handled everything perfectly. Also the snacks and drink they gave us were so good.
If I'm ever back in St Kitts, I'd happily book with these guys again.
