Montserrat - Montserrat is a mountain top monastery situated on top of an unusual rock mountain. It is the highest point of the Catalan lowlands. Montserrat monastery hosts “la Moreneta”, also called Black Madonna. The legend says that the benedictine monks found the statue, and they could not move the statue to build their monastery, so they decided to construct it around the statue. Montserrat was designated as a National Park in 1987. Nowadays, it is a site of pilgrimage for people around the world.
Once in Montserrat, enjoy a 45-minute small group guided tour, and then you will have 2 hours to explore on your own. You can visit the Museum, taste the monastery’s homemade liquor, go for an easy walk to Saint Miguel’s cross for an incredible viewpoint, go up the Sant Joan Funicular, take wonderful pictures, buy local products from the farmer’s market, and more. - Abadia de Montserrat - The origin of the monastery is uncertain, but it is believed that the Virgin of Monsterrat (La Moreneta) was found around 880. (8.30 am and 1.30 pm tours include tickets to La Moreneta). According to the legends, the monks built the monastery around the statue. The monastery still functions to this day with over 70 monks. The basilica of Montserrat began its construction in the 16th century, and now houses an art museum. It is also the place where la Escolania, one of the oldest Boys’ Choirs in Europe, performs during religious ceremonies (you can listen to them on the 9.30 am tour).
- Bages - Once we finish our Montserrat visit, our transport will take you to a 12th century traditional farmhouse on a family-owned winery in the Bages region. Here, you will delight in a 3-course lunch featuring authentic dishes, complemented by a wine pairing menu curated by a skilled sommelier.

Great experience with the best possible price-performance 👍🏻 Successful all round - This tour was just great all round – you couldn’t have planned it better! From Barcelona to Montserrat, then on to Cellar Abadal: a real experience for all the senses.
Montserrat was impressive, the atmosphere was special – and at the latest during the wine tasting at Abadal it was clear: This is very special. The wines were perfectly matched, high quality and made with a lot of love. The 3-course menu was just outstanding – great food, great presentation and a direct hit in terms of taste.
A huge thank you goes to our tour guide Miro: super personable, attentive, relaxed and with just the right mix of knowledge, humor and good mood. You immediately notice that he loves his job – and that makes all the difference. With him you don't feel like you're on a standard tour, but like you're traveling with a good friend.
A special highlight was Abadal itself: a beautiful winery with incredibly warm people. The Abadal family puts so much passion, history and warmth into everything they do – you can feel that in every glass and every course of the menu.
Conclusion: An unforgettable day, perfect food, fantastic wines, a great guide and a lot of Catalan joie de vivre. Absolute recommendation – we would do it again immediately! 🇩🇪❤️🍷

Great trip! And even better tour guide! - The trip had limited physical activity but a lot to see and do on the trip. Our tour guide, Vince, was AMAZING!! We learned so many fun facts that were different from all other tours we’ve taken - highly recommend any tours with him - he will not steer you wrong! Very knowledgeable on wine and the region. And so fun/upbeat and inclusive! All ages in our family (young and old!) found him to be fun and engaging!

Montserrat and Abadal vineyard - It was a spectacular experience!!! Our guide Miro, prepares very well, has very interesting details and provides them in an updated and entertaining way. History with great Wine & Food - The tour was excellent. Monserrat tour did not include the up-close Black Madonna, but the tour was better than one we did years back when an up-close was included. Val was a great tour guide with many pop culture references. The cheese from the farmers market that has been going on for 200 years is excellent and unless you are flying via UK, will pack nicely in luggage. The wine pairing and food was excellent. Plenty of great wine with excellent food. You are able to purchase wine, honey, and olive oil at the end. We highly recommend this small group tour.

Incredible tour - This was the best tour we have had in Barcelona. Miro was incredible, fun, smart, and informative. Montserrat is beautiful and the wine tour was so so worth it. The scenery can not beat and listening to the history alongside it was the best way to experience such a wonderful and important part of Barcelonas history. The amazing wines and lunch were icing on the cake for an absolutely marvelous day.
