Upon arrival at Montserrat, known as the heart of Catalan tradition for its rich history, religious importance, and vibrant cultural heritage, you will embark on your cultural exploration. Visit the Montserrat Monastery to delve into its fascinating history and tour the Basilica of Santa Maria de Montserrat. Learn about the monks’ lifestyle and admire the magnificent vistas from the monastery.

• Montana de Montserrat - Optionally, take a leisurely walk from the Montserrat Monastery, enjoying the breathtaking views and the remarkable geological formations of the Natural Park.

This relaxing walk allows you to unwind and appreciate the stunning surroundings, including the area’s unique rocky landscapes.

• Montserrat Mountains - Afterwards, visit an impressive farm located on one of the most spectacular hillsides in the park, offering breathtaking views of Montserrat Mountain.

Enjoy a leisurely horseback ride at a walking pace, suitable for all levels with no prior experience needed. This area, known for its Romanesque architecture, features hermitages along the Way of Saint James.

TOUR DESCRIPTION

After 50-minute drive from Barcelona we first visit the Benedictine Abbey, first built on the 11th century and home to Catalonia’s Patroness Saint, The Black Madonna, a strong symbol of spirituality and unity for the local people.

At the Monastery area we browse amongst regional products in the local farmer’s market before we head to the ranch.

There, we enjoy an unforgettable experience on horseback over the stunning countryside at Montserrat’s National Park. We follow a three Romanesque hermitages route while we are amused by this unique, jagged and sawtooth mountain range.

Before we head back to Barcelona we still have time to relax at the ranch breathing in Nature.
