Embark on a delightful day trip to Montserrat, driving through the stunning natural landscape of this distinctive jagged mountain to reach the historic Monastery nestled among the peaks. With your tickets, visit the Basilica and ‘The Black Madonna,’ and if available, enjoy the Children’s Choir**. This tour provides two options for experiencing Montserrat: opt for the private tour, which includes hotel pick-up and drop-off, or the semi-private tour, where you join a small group of up to 8 participants with an easily accessible meeting point.
This tour is family-friendly and suitable for children.
If you wish to have lunch, the guide will recommend a buffet that offers great value and quality.
Tickets for the children’s choir are subject to availability and must be requested in advance with an additional charge.
- Pick-Up/Drop-off at your Hotel in Barcelona Area (Only Private Option)
- Meet your guide at the Meeting Point (Mandatory - Semi-Private Option)
- In high season the availability for some attractions are subject to the number of people in Montserrat as there could be long queues.
- If there are children in the group, they will have to ask for a child car seat upon request, with an extra cost.(€8)
- If there is a last-minute tour, please keep in mind that access to La Moreneta will be subject to availability. In case it is sold out, you will still be able to enter the monastery and complete the rest of the tour as planned.
- Attendance at the Boy’s Choir is subject to availability and must be requested in advance directly with your guide.

Outstanding Monserrat Guide Pau - Outstanding day trip with our guide Pau. He was knowledgeable and accommodating to our wishes. Gave us real insight to the history and life in the region.

Beautiful Experience - This private tour was fantastic. Pedro was our guide and did a great job explaining the history of the region. He answered numerous other questions about Barcelona in general. It is a beautiful day trip and I would highly recommend this tour

The trip to Montserrat by private car was seamless and during travel we were enlightened by Paolo about Catalonian h ist - This was a great trip,as described in the literature. Our guide Paolo picked us up punctually at our hotel, as promised.

Montserrat and the Black Madonna with Pau our amazing guide. - This was absolutely fantastic. Pau picked us up from the hotel on time and was very informative on the way to Montserrat. When we arrived at the Benedictine Abbey, there was a special private mass, so the line to get in was closed for an hour or so. With that, Pau suggested we take the hike to Saint Michael’s Cross. We made it to the cross, and the view was so beautiful— it was totally worth the hike, even for an old retired couple. When we were done with the hike back, the Abbey just opened up again, and we went straight in. The Abbey is beyond Magnificent, seeing the Black Madonna was very spiritual. To top it off, we saw the golden rose gifted by Pope Francis. The main chapel was the icing on the cake. So much stunning artistry and architecture in a single place, with so much spirituality, you can feel it as you walk through the entire Abbey. Pau knew so much about the Abbey historically and religiously; he made the visit more meaningful and was truly a blessing to have as our guide. Do not hesitate to book this tour, it is unforgettable!!!!!!

Perfect Montserrat Day with Pau - Our private tour to Montserrat with Pau was absolutely perfect from start to finish. He felt like a brother, easygoing, funny, and full of knowledge. He picked us up on time right at our hotel and made the drive to Montserrat fly by as he shared stories about the region, local culture, and what we were seeing along the way.
Once there, he dropped us off to explore while he parked the van (down the hill - what a guy!). We wandered for a bit and then met up to explore the market together, sampling cheeses from vendors he clearly knew personally. Everyone greeted him warmly, and they treated us like locals.
Inside the church, Pau guided us with just the right mix of history and personality, explaining the significance of La Moreneta (the Black Madonna) while keeping it engaging. Afterward, we hiked to the cross viewpoint, and he pointed out different plants, legends, and bits of history as we went. He really knows his stuff but delivers it in such a relaxed, natural way that it never feels like a lecture.
We had lunch at the monastery café, where the conversation (and learning!) continued. Even the drive back to the hotel was full of good stories and laughs.
It was a perfect day! Pau made it personal, educational, and fun. We left feeling like we’d spent the day with a friend who just happens to be an expert guide.

Just book it!!! - Pau was simply AMAZING — no other word fits better! From the moment our tour began, Pau’s energy, passion, and knowledge brought every stop to life. You can tell right away that guiding isn’t just a job for Pau; it’s something done with genuine heart. Every explanation was engaging, every story was full of insight, and the whole group felt included and comfortable.
We appreciated how organized everything was, yet it never felt rushed. Pau struck the perfect balance between informative and fun — we learned so much while still laughing and enjoying the experience. You can tell Pau truly loves sharing these places and making sure everyone has the best time possible.
By the end of the day, it didn’t feel like we were with a guide, but with a friend who just happens to know everything about the area. Thank you, Pau, for such a memorable experience! We’ll be talking about this tour for a long time.

Montserrat with Pau - Our trip to Montserrat was wonderful. Pau picked us up at the hotel right on time. He is wonderful and knowledgeable and gave us detailed commentary on the area, the mountain, and the monastery as we were driving to Montserrat. Once there he introduced us to ricotta with honey YUM that the farmers sell at their stands. We hiked to the cross , saw the black Madonna, heard the boys choir, and sat in the church. He knew the answer to every question we asked. He is so personable and open and even talked about his family’s connection to Montserrat. We never felt rushed . It was such an enjoyable experience . I HIGHLY recommend this trip with Pau.

Pau with LoKool Tours might be the best tour guide in Barcelona!! Highly recommend! - Our tour guide, PAU, with LoKool Tours, was the very best tour guide you could possibly have if anyone is thinking about booking this tool they should do it with LoKool TOURS and specifically asked for Pau, he was knowledgeable, engaging, friendly, a great driver and all around excellent tour guide highly recommend. If you’re thinking about doing monster or any other tours in the Barcelona area be sure to search Pau with LoKool Tours. OUTSTANDING JOB!! if it was possible to give him 15 stars out of five we would’ve done that. Well worth the money great value great tour guide comfortable Dianne very knowledgeable good driver lotta fun to be with and stayed with us the entire day and made us feel right at home and English was excellent.
