• Kbr Fundación Mapfre - Barcelona Photo Center - KBr is the new Photography Center through which Fundación MAPFRE in Barcelona embarks on a new phase in its strong commitment to artistic photography. From September 24 until May 24, 2026, explore these two exhibitions:

Walker Evans. Now and Then
Walker Evans (1903–1975) stands as a pivotal figure in modern photography and one of the foremost visual chroniclers of 20th-century America. His work, which appears simple yet is profoundly expressive, captures everyday life, urban landscapes, and the anonymous faces of a nation undergoing transformation.

Pérez Siquier. Fundación MAPFRE Collections
Carlos Pérez Siquier (Almería, 1930–2021) was a leading figure in Spanish photography and a major innovator of 20th-century visual language. From his hometown, he crafted a modern and poetic body of work that sensitively and ironically reflects Spain’s social and cultural changes.

The KBr Barcelona Photo Center marks a new chapter in the MAPFRE Foundation’s strong commitment to artistic photography, a key cultural focus since 2009. Featuring two exhibition halls, a bookstore, an educational activity area, and a versatile auditorium, KBr has established itself as a prominent national and international hub for photography.

Situated near Port Olímpic, a notable leisure and entertainment area in Barcelona, KBr presents a diverse exhibition program showcasing the great masters of 20th-century photography alongside internationally acclaimed contemporary photographers and significant historical photography collections.

Visitors can explore two temporary exhibitions until May 24: “Walker Evans: Now and Then” and “Pérez Siquier. Colecciones Fundación MAPFRE.”
