To achieve its educational goals, MACBA provides a variety of programs and resources designed to engage visitors with its content. A dedicated team of educators works full-time with the public, offering scheduled presentations and guided tours, as well as group tours by appointment. They are also on hand to assist visitors with any questions during their museum visit, provide information about the artworks on display, and discuss the exhibitions.
The museum aims to be a space where knowledge is generated through interaction with the artworks, fostering dialogue and shared reflection among educators and the diverse visitors who come to explore it.

MACBA is situated in the historic old town of Barcelona and boasts over 20,000 square meters dedicated to contemporary art through both permanent and temporary exhibitions. The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art is housed in a building designed by Richard Meier, recognized as a cultural landmark.
The 2023 program delves into the intricate perspectives of contemporary art through visual arts, performance, film, music, and events. From December 14, 2022, to mid-2024, visitors can explore the MACBA Collection: Prelude, which carries a poetic intention.
Additionally, visitors can enjoy the following temporary exhibitions:
- MACBA Collection. Prelude. Poetic intention: until 15/09/2025.
- Carlos Motta. Prayers of Resistance: until 26/10/2025.
- Coco Fusco. I Learned to Swim on Dry Land: until 11/01/2026.
- The admission ticket is valid for one month. It allows unlimited multiple entries to all current exhibitions for one month from the date of purchase, as well as access to the activities of the Experience MACBA program over the same period
