• Carrer del Portal Nou, 2 - Located in the heart of the Sant Pere neighborhood, which, along with Santa Caterina, was a significant hub of commercial and textile activity from its inception. In the 19th century, the area was bustling with silk and cotton factories and printing workshops, with over 280 textile businesses operating between the two neighborhoods. Carrer del Portal Nou has ancient roots, once serving as an entry point to the city from an old Roman road from France. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the street was adorned with porticoes that supported commercial life, although most were demolished in the early 19th century. Today, only a few remain. The area, near Barcelona’s medieval walls, is also steeped in local legends, with tales of mysterious apparitions seen late at night.
• Monasterio de Sant Pere de les Puel.les - Sant Pere Square was once the site of the Monastery of Sant Pere de les Puel·les, established before the first millennium as a sanctuary for noble nuns. Frequently destroyed by invasions, wars, and fires, the monastery was rebuilt numerous times and briefly flourished after its reconsecration in 1143. Eventually seized and used as a prison, the nuns were forced to leave permanently. Today, the site is enveloped in legends of ghostly nuns said to haunt the square, unable to find peace after centuries of hardship.
• Carrer de la Neu de Sant Cugat, 4 - This narrow, charming street in the Born district was once renowned for selling real snow, long before the advent of refrigerators. People visited here to purchase snow used to cool drinks, preserve food, or make ice cream.
• Carrer de la Flor del Lliri, 5 - A historic, enigmatic corner where the ancient Roman Road connected Barcelona to Europe, passing through vibrant streets and centered around the once-famous, now darkly reputed Hostal Flor de Lliri.
• Placeta d’En Marcús, 6 - In Barcelona’s Ribera district, Plaça d’En Marcús is named after Bernat Marcús, a wealthy 12th-century benefactor who supported charitable works, including a chapel and hospital for the poor and pilgrims.
• Carrer de Montcada - A significant historic location in Barcelona, now a street of galleries and museums, originally the 11th-century coastal path Camí del Born in the undefined Vilanova del Mar area, whose lands were later granted to influential citizens by Count Ramon Berenguer IV.
