- Basilica de la Sagrada Familia - The Sagrada Familia stands as the iconic symbol of Barcelona and is the crowning achievement of Antoni Gaudí. It is the city’s most visited landmark. Its towers, visible from afar, reach towards the sky, and its two exterior facades leave a lasting impression on visitors. Inside, Gaudí’s brilliance truly shines. The basilica remains under construction, with completion anticipated in 2026.
- Casa Mila - La Pedrera - Casa Milà, commonly referred to as La Pedrera due to its quarry-like appearance, was the final civil project by architect Antoni Gaudí before he focused solely on the Sagrada Familia. It is a must-see attraction. Constructed between 1906 and 1910, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.
- Casa Batllo - Situated in the heart of the Ensanche, this building is one of the city’s most renowned. Designed by Antoni Gaudí in the early 20th century during the height of modernism, it served as the residence for the Batlló family. It is a masterpiece both inside and out. When strolling along Passeig de Gràcia, its facade is sure to capture your attention.
- Placa Catalunya - Visiting Barcelona almost certainly involves passing through Plaza de Catalunya, which connects Ciutat Vella and the Ensanche neighborhood. It is a central hub for public transport and some of the city’s most significant streets.
- Plaça d’Espanya - Designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, this square connects Montjuïc mountain, the Sants neighborhood, and Poble-sec. Plaza de Espanya, located at the intersection of key roads in Barcelona, serves as the gateway to Montjuïc. It was constructed for the 1929 Universal Exposition and is partially inspired by St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican. At its center is the Font dels Tres Mars, a monumental fountain by Josep Maria Jujol, a disciple of Gaudí, symbolizing the three seas surrounding the Iberian Peninsula.
- Montjuic - Montjuic, or Montjuich, is a mountain in Barcelona standing 177 meters above sea level, featuring a neighborhood of the same name within the Sants-Montjuic district.
- Port Vell (Old Port) - The oldest section of Barcelona’s port is surrounded by numerous historical and leisure attractions. Today, Port Vell caters to sports boats, cruises, and cultural activities. Along its banks, visitors can find monuments, museums, shopping centers, a large aquarium, and a 1918 sailing ship.
- Parc de la Ciutadella - Once the site of the 1888 Universal Exposition, this expansive park now hosts two museums, a vast collection of public art, and more. Spanning over seventeen hectares, Ciutadella Park is Barcelona’s largest urban park after Montjuïc and serves as an open-air museum of sculptures.
- Arc de Triomf - The Arc de Triomf is a monument located at the junction of Paseo de Lluís Companys, Paseo de San Juan, and Ronda de San Pedro in Barcelona. Designed by architect José Vilaseca, it served as the main entrance to the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exhibition.
