- Petrovac - The total duration of this tour includes the time spent in transportation. Starting from our meeting point, we head to Petrovac to begin our tour. In the 3rd century AD, the Romans constructed their summer villas in this picturesque bay, and today, the mosaic floors of these villas can still be admired in this charming town. A leisurely stroll along a stunning 600-meter-long sandy beach, featuring views of diverse Mediterranean plants, cottages, villas, and a 16th-century Venetian Fortress with two islets in the distance, marks the beginning of this tour. We will ascend the 16th-century Castio fortress, built by the Venetians, located at the northern end of the beach. The upper part of Castio features a memorial plaque dedicated to the Montenegrin soldiers who fell during both World Wars. After this visit, we will continue our journey.
- The Monastery of Rezevici - On our way to Budva, we will pass by medieval Orthodox monasteries overlooking the sea and stop to visit one of them. We will enjoy the tranquility of these sacred places and admire the vibrant frescoes in Praskvica, Reževići, or Rustovo Monastery. The journey from Petrovac to Budva takes about 20 minutes and offers a fantastic view of the Adriatic Sea.
- Sveti Stefan - After exploring the monasteries, we arrive at Montenegro’s most photographed site and a symbol of our Adriatic coast, the enchanting island of Sveti Stefan. This island, dating back to the 15th century, is a fortified village connected to the mainland by a narrow passage. Today, it is part of the luxurious Aman resort, accessible only to paying guests. The restored stone buildings house 51 rooms, cottages, and suites on the island, perfectly blending with centuries of history. While we cannot enter the island, we can admire it from the beachside or a nearby viewpoint. Not far from the island is arguably Montenegro’s most beautiful beach, Miločer or King’s Beach, which belongs to the Aman resort.
- Budva - Leaving Sveti Stefan behind, we arrive in Budva, the country’s most popular destination. With its captivating Old Town, lively bars, Blue Flag beaches, and bustling nightclubs, this town attracts about 300,000 tourists every summer. Nearby beaches such as Bečići, Pržno, Mogren, Kamenovo, and Ploče are often crowded with sun-seeking families and tourists. The town has been inhabited since the 5th century BC, and together we will explore the Necropolis from this period and the fortified Stari grad (Old Town) from medieval times. The main attraction of Budva is its winding streets and Venetian walls from the 15th century, surrounded by the clear sea. Following a strong earthquake in 1979, the town was completely rebuilt, now featuring more shops, souvenirs, bars, and restaurants than residences.
- Kotor - From Budva, we travel to Boka Bay, arriving in Kotor. Some refer to it as the southernmost fjord of Europe or a submerged canyon, but either way, it is a must-see destination in Montenegro. Would you like to witness the contrast of the blue sea, green hills, and black-grey steep mountains as you arrive in UNESCO World Heritage Kotor? Boka Bay is one of the Mediterranean’s most unique and striking landscapes. The fortified medieval city of Kotor is located at the end of the Kotor Gulf within a triangular area bordered by San Giovanni Hill, the Adriatic Sea, the river Škurda, and the Gurdić Well. Inside the 4km robust walls, the medieval layout has largely remained unchanged; museums, squares, and piazzettas flanked by churches and noble palaces are sure to impress. Lose yourself in the narrow winding streets as you admire centuries-old buildings, enjoying your lunch break and free time.
- Our Lady of the Rocks - From Kotor, we proceed to Perast. Known as the most baroque town in Montenegro, situated at the foot of St. Elijah’s Hill, Perast is a quaint town filled with nostalgic memories of its rich and powerful past. It boasts 16 churches, 17 noble palaces, and two beautiful little islands. On July 22, 1452, Our Lady of the Rocks was artificially created around a rock where the icon of the Madonna with Child was discovered. The island was formed by accumulating stone pieces and old sunken ships loaded with stones around that rock. We can take a short boat ride to visit a magnificent church of the same name, erected in 1630. Inside, there are baroque paintings, hundreds of silver votive tablets, and a small museum featuring a most unusual exhibit. This is a must-experience attraction, highly recommended by every tourist who visits Montenegro. From Perast, a 1:30-minute ride (or less, depending on the meeting point) brings us back to our meeting point.
