Magic climbing to steep Mt Batur - I loved the beautiful sights from Mt. Batur. The only thing was that it should be more informative about how steep of climb. I am older with no so good knees and I ended up paying for motorcycle to take me almost because they let you off not completely on top so you have another 15 minute steep climb. View is great and worth it! The Hot Springs were sorely needed and beautiful next to Lake Batur. I met two other solos from France and Russia and had terrific time.

Kuas and Jeling! - Our journey started with Jeling, our driver. Prompt, came 10 minutes earlier than our designated time and was patient enough to wait the last few minutes.
We slept a large portion of the ride but when we were awake he would explain the area and the culture so it was a sweet experience of having a driver and a very cool and knowledgeable tour guide.
Even after the mountain climb he waited for us during the hot springs and way back. He was ready to go whenever we were which we really appreciated since it was 1:30am till almost 11am.
Super cool dude and highly reccomend to anyone for being so professional and kind.
Our hiking guide was Kuas. Kuas was AMAZING. Seemed shy at first but when you’re hiking a volcano through the jungle we all open up real quick. Super friendly and patient. He told us this mountain was his second home, as he has climbed it over 1,000 times over the past 10 years. I’m not going to lie, I was a bit hungover and stuggling but he let me take my breaks whenever needed but was also the voice of reason letting us know when we had to make it to the top to not miss the sunrise.
Kuas is the MAN. I would reccomend him to all my friends for any climb.
I appreciate the entire crew for all their help, hospitality, and professionalism.

Perfect sunrise hike - Kuas was our tour guide and was prepared from the start with water bottles and headlamps and bamboo walking sticks! He was cheery and ready for the day.
The most attentive to both me and my friend who was not feeling well.
He never rushed us and was genuinely the most helpful with photos and videos.
Be prepared for a bit of a hike to the most scenic sunrises.
Breakfast was banana sandwiches and thermal springs cooked eggs which was fun to see.
Do it!

Must do experience in Bali - Kuas was our guide who took us up the mountain. He is so incredibly friendly, he took lots of photos for us, shared history about the volcano and surrounding areas. We also were given yummy banana sandwiches, hot chocolates and a blanket as we watched the sun come up! Kuas timed everything well so that we could see the sunrise on time, whilst we enjoyed our volcano cooking. Kuas is also very experienced in walking the mountain and helped me numerous times as it’s a rocky terrain.

A tough hike that is so worth it. - This was an incredible hike, absolutely exhausting climbing up but so very worth it. Surprisingly cold at the top so I do recommend a good jumper for it. Stunning views, even with cloud cover, it was just amazing to look out over everything. I had the fantastic experience of Karma being my guide for the trip. He was super friendly and supportive when I was struggling with the climb up. We had the best time running back down together to beat the traffic of people to avoid eating dust. Absolutely enjoyed it. My driver was fantastic too and made me feel safe so I could get some extra sleep in the car ride. Got to stop and do a coffee and tea tasting, he was very patient while I enjoyed my time there too.

Great guide and driver, definitely recommend! - Had a great time with Kuas (guide) and Dode (driver). Kuas was very knowledgeable and energetic. He took care of us going up and down the mountain and found a great place for us to settle once we arrived. He even took care of the mountain by picking up other people’s trash and bringing the full bag down off the mountain! I wish more people were like Kuas, then the world would be a better place.
Dode was a very prompt and kind driver, and even drove us around to a cafe with a great view after the hot springs! He waited while we enjoyed our activities and was always always on time with the pickups.
The trek up Mt Batur was slippery with lots of loose dirt but our guide provided hiking sticks which helped a lot. The weather up there tends to be cloudy so we didn’t get to see the actual sun rise at the top, but did see it when the sun was fully out and burned away some of the mist (also, when descending).
The hot springs were nice and warm but there were far too many flies due to local vegetarian and farms. It’s a shame, as it would’ve otherwise been a very relaxing experience!
Overall I would recommend this activity but be sure to temper your expectations. Let’s do our best to support local communities!

Mount Batur Hiking with Kuas - We had Kuas with us as a guide, and he was the absolute best, really friendly, helpful and nice. One of us really had a hard time to go up the hill and he was really helpful and helped pulling her up on difficult steps for the entire trip. He gave us sticks which are really helpful to get up (and down). He was always considerate, found the best stops where to take short breaks and despite our fitness managed to get us up on time for the stunning sunrise and the promised breakfast, which was really nice. Last but not least we also got to learn from his knowledge of the surrounding landscape and history of it. Also, his photography skills are really creative and cool, so make sure you let him make some pictures of you. The only thing we regret is that we didn’t ask to do a selfie together.

Spectacular sunrise over Batur 🌄 - Immersive experience in Balinese nature. The climb is quite tiring but the sunrise from the summit rewards everything. Our guide Maanwiss very attentive, prepared and very kind especially to our 9 year old girl

To do! - Take good shoes that do not slip especially for the descent! The top is cold, a good windbreaker is not luxury! Thank you to my guide who was very considerate. A nice experience but I did not find transcendent the sunrise on this mountain as it is highlighted!
