Chinatown’s history dates back to when King Taksin established Thonburi as the new capital in 1767. He invited Teochew merchants to supply the capital with rice and provisions, granting them numerous privileges, including land on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River, opposite his palace.
When King Rama I ascended the throne and established Bangkok as the new capital in 1782, he commissioned the Grand Palace in the area where the Chinese community resided. He instructed them to relocate further south from the Grand Palace to what is now known as Chinatown.

Short time in Bangkok - We had limited time in Bangkok and our guide Nate managed to get us round everything we wanted to see including private boat on the Khlongs. Super nice chap full of knowledge and saved us loads of time by knowing exactly how to get around

3 days in Bangkok - Arrived in Bangkok, greeted at airport by Mimi and driver. Picked up from hotel the next day for a full tour. Visited many temples, the Royal Palace, a wonderful canal rude, the reclining Buddha, a one hour massage, delicious lunch and a ferry ride to our final temple Wat Pho.. The next day we visited China town, another temple, the flower market, a live Thai performance, another delicious lunch. Throughout the entire 3 days, our driver Mr. Laor seamlessly appeared from nowhere to pick us up in his air conditioned van. He was amazing. Our guide Mimi was beyond informative with her knowledge of every temple and venue we visited. A truly unique experience. Recommendations to any family travelling in this foreign country.

Wonderful experience - We truly enjoyed our vacation in Thailand, and a big part of that was thanks to our amazing tour guide, From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the service we received was absolutely unmatched.
Poppy and Guide Nok made us feel incredibly special throughout our entire trip. They catered to our every need and ensured we were comfortable and well taken care of every step of the way. Their attention to detail and genuine care made all the difference.
They were always punctual, ready to pick us up on time for each tour, and everything was organized seamlessly. We never had to worry about a thing — we were able to fully relax and enjoy our experience.
I highly recommend this company to anyone planning to visit Thailand. You will be in excellent hands!

Absolutely Perfect Private Tour – Even with Our Dog! - We had the most amazing private tour from Bangkok to Pattaya with Noc Noc Travel and Tours. From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized. Nok was incredibly helpful while planning the tour and made it possible for us to travel together with our small dog. That meant so much to us!
Our tour guide Som was simply wonderful – kind, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She adapted completely to our pace and made sure everything was arranged so we could bring our dog along comfortably. We truly felt taken care of the entire day.
Our tour started at the Sanctuary of Truth, which was absolutely breathtaking. Som explained so many interesting details and gave us plenty of time to explore. After that, we visited the Big Buddha in Pattaya, where she took beautiful photos of us and shared great insights.
Next, we went to the Floating Market and enjoyed a small boat tour. This was such a highlight! We did some souvenir shopping, and Som introduced us to local drinks and food – we got to try so many delicious things we would never have discovered on our own.
We also visited another Laser Buddha afterwards, which was a perfect ending to a fantastic day.
If you want to travel at your own pace and have a truly personalized experience, we can highly recommend booking a private tour with Noc Noc Travel and Tours. And definitely ask for Som – she is the perfect tour guide you could wish for!

The perfect tailored tour - Prior to arriving in Bangkok, I had mentioned places we would like to visit as we were staying in the city for just a couple of days.
Alex provided the perfect tailored tour helping us to experience amazing landmarks, true culture and excellent foods.
Alex was friendly and her knowledge of the city was very impressive.

Easy way to see the sights - Booked a private tour with driver. This proved to be a no hassle way to see the sights. We moved from temple etc to the next sight with ease. The queue for a boat trip was long but we had no wait time and a boat for just us. Don’t know how Tip managed that. Tip our guide was knowledgeable, friendly with a great sense of humour. She arranged an appointment to a tailor who managed to make a linen suit in a very restricted time slot. A wonderful and informative day. Thank you Tip ( incredible lunch too)

Perfect trip for local sightseeing - Som and Beer provided a fantastic tour from start to finish. Som took care of every detail and gave lots of history and tips. We got lots of helpful suggestions of what to do that day and for the rest of our trip. They gave us a great first day in Bangkok!

Amazing first day in Bangkok! - We did a private tour with Lily for our first day in Bangkok. She was so friendly and helpful we felt like we were being shown around by a friend. Lily picked us up at our hotel and took us by ferry to the Grand Palace, Wat Po, and Wat Arun. She also took us to a tiny little Thai restaurant for lunch that we never would have known about. We learned so much from Lily!
All communication from Noc before our trip was timely and very professional. I highly recommend having a private tour with Noc Noc to get acclimated to Bangkok and learn all the customs and history. Thank you Lily for a terrific day!
