• Kanchanaburi Province - As you travel through Kanchanaburi Province, admire the stunning rural landscapes and the peaceful atmosphere of this charming area. Although there are no stops here, the natural beauty and tranquility of the countryside will captivate you as you continue to the historical sites ahead.
• JEATH War Museum - Upon reaching Kanchanaburi, your first stop is the JEATH War Museum, located in Wat Chai Chumphon Ban Tai Subdistrict. This museum offers an emotional and informative journey into the history of the Death Railway. You’ll learn about the hardships faced by the prisoners of war who were forced to build the railway during the Japanese occupation. The exhibits, filled with photographs, artifacts, and personal stories, provide a profound understanding of this dark period in history.
• Kanchanaburi War Cemetery - Next, visit the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery on Sangchuto Road, the final resting place of thousands of Allied soldiers who died during the construction of the Burma Railway. As you walk among the rows of neatly arranged gravestones, you’ll have a chance to reflect on the sacrifices made by these soldiers and honor their memory in this peaceful and serene environment.
• Bridge Over the River Kwai - After the war cemetery, your tour continues to the River Kwai, one of the most iconic historical sites in Thailand. Here, you’ll visit the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, a symbol of both human suffering and survival during World War II. Take your time to explore the bridge, capture photographs, and learn more about its significance in the construction of the Death Railway.
• Burma-Thai Railway - Next, take a train ride on the historical Death Railway, which was once built by allied Prisoners of War and runs partly parallel to the River Kwai and through dense jungle. At approximately 07:00 pm, you’ll arrive back at your hotel in Bangkok city area where the tour will end.
• Erawan Waterfalls - You’ll be ready for some exercise, so we’ll take you into the Erawan National Park for a trek through the jungle to the beautiful terraced Erawan waterfalls. You’ll have time to relax with a swim here or just a paddle if you prefer. (Please take your swimming dress if you want to swim).
• Erawan National Park - Following the historical sites, you’ll head towards Erawan National Park, located in Si Sawat. This tranquil park is known for its natural beauty, and the drive here will take about an hour. Once you arrive, you’ll have time to explore the lush greenery, serene forest trails, and abundant wildlife that make this national park a perfect retreat for nature lovers.
• Bangkok - After an enriching day exploring both the historical and natural wonders of Kanchanaburi, you’ll begin your return journey to Bangkok. Reflect on the unforgettable experiences from your trip as you relax during the drive back to the city. Once you arrive in Bangkok, your guide will drop you off at your hotel, completing a full day of discovery and adventure.
