Excellent Factual WWll Tour - Firstly this is an all day trip but there is time to rest on the 2 hour drive back on the early evening. Take a hat, sunscreen and good trainers or walking sandals. I booked for me and my wife who has no knowledge of this historical peice of engineering and its sad significance along with Hell Fire Pass and the Thai/Burma railway in general, so I was sceptical she would enjoy the day. I am a Veteran myself and do like Military history so this was a no brainer for me to visit whilst in Thailand. Ken the guide was great and you can see his passion for the Veterans that helped build this and the suffering they endured. The JEATH Museum is very old and unkempt but still has a small amount of items recovered from mainly the camps POWs were kept. The bridge over the river Kwai itself was fantastic and to walk across knowing the blood sweat and tears it took to build this bought it home to think that at the time there was nothing but jungle that surrounded it unlike the buildings today. The ride of the train as well on which is just a very small part of it also makes you realise how much track was laid. The wooden bridge also is an amazing feat of engineering foe back in the day. A meal is laid on after the wooden bridge which was great and there were drinks supplied by Ken in the vehicle which are kept cooled. Lastly was Kanchanburi CWGC Cemetery. Having visited previous ones in Normandy and Belgium I knew what to expect but it blew my Wife away with how well kept it is. My wife enjoyed the trip thankfully saying that she was glad she done it amd did now knew about what happened in the Far East and South Asia during WWll. If you do like your Molitary History and even if you have no knowledge of the Thai/Burma railway this trip is for anybody and I would defjnately recommend.

Great way to see everything in one day. - This was a wonderful and sobering experience. We loved the private tour because we beat the crowds who took the train from Bangkok yet we were able to ride the train for an hour and the driver picked us up at the train stop. Because we drove, we had plenty of time to see everything. The JEATH museum, the cemetery, the bridge, train ride to one of the cuts, the hellfire pass museum and even the waterfall at the national park.

Fantastic Experience - We had a fantastic experience with Ken, our guide, and Mr Yoon, our driver. The day began at the JEATH War Museum, followed by a visit to the River Khwae Bridge — we arrived at the perfect time, just before it became busy. We then spent some time at the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, which was very moving, and it was comforting to see how well the graves are preserved. Next, we took a train ride along the Death Railway for just over an hour, seated in excellent spots where we could get a good view of the wooden bridge. During the journey, Ken surprised us with a beautiful bookmark featuring our photo on the train — taken by the lovely female railway staff member who had also been handing out water and cake to passengers. Lunch was served at a local restaurant with a wonderful view of the wooden bridge. Afterward, we visited the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre and walked the Memorial Trail. It was incredible to see, though deeply sad, and left a lasting effect. We finished off with a stop at Saiyoknoi Water Fall. Overall, it was a full 12 hour day from start to finish, but I can’t think of a single part I would remove to make it shorter. A big thank you again to Ken, whose incredible knowledge of the history behind each stop made the experience even more meaningful and to Mr Yoon for his very comfortable vehicle.

Great WW II History, But A Long Day - My wife and I had a private tour, which was excellent. Our guide, Lucky, was very good. It was obvious that she had done this tour many times before, and knew her stuff. Bat, our driver, was also excellent. It was a long day, scheduled for 12 hours from pick-up to drop-off at our hotel. So long, that we opted to skip the last stop, the waterfall, and hopefully get back to the hotel sooner, but that got us into the middle of Bangkok's maddening rush hour traffic. There was no mention of this, but be sure to pack your own toilet paper. I would recommend that the tour be done in reverse if possible. The first stop was Kanchanaburi. 2 hours from Bangkok. Since we skipped the waterfall, our last stop was Hellfire Pass, don't miss it, but the return from there was 3 hours and longer due to traffic.

Visiting sacred sites - This was a sacred site visit for us given we grew up knowing the story in the film but not the reality. Extremely moving. Rudy, the guide was excellent - very knowledgeable and a great sense of humour. We had to jump out of the car in traffic at the end and didn’t get the chance the thank him as much as we would like to have done. Thanks to Rudy, and driver Jack, a great 11.5 hour day.
