Fun peek into Chinatown! - First off, our tour guide Kwon was amazing! She not only expertly hearted cats, but she had fun facts and even helped us get home using the MTS/BTS transit system after. Not only are you getting taken around through the depths of Chinatown but you’re also being fed and shown some places you’d never find without a tour. 10/10 would recommend

Great Food Tour in Bangkok - First was a fantastic guide! She lead our group on a fantastic tour of Bangkok’s Chinatown. She was very informative and took fantastic care of our group. The food we had was delicious and so plentiful I couldn’t finish everything. She even made sure I got back to my hotel okay. I would recommend this to any Bangkok visitor.

wouldn’t call this a ‘tour’, and we didn’t visit a Michelin-star restaurant. - I wouldn’t do this tour again or recommend it. Let me explain. When we arrived at the meeting point, our tour guide asked for our names but didn’t introduce himself, so I don’t know his name. Normally I would ask, but I couldn’t understand about 50% of what he was saying, mainly because of his accent. We started a bit later because part of the group didn’t show up. We started 15 minutes late, which wasn’t a problem in itself, but because the communication was not very clear, the situation was confusing. We eventually started without the missing people and walked to the first food stall. There we got some delicious “appetizers” (pad thai and pork saté). It could be that I had a very different idea of the tour, but our guide didn’t explain anything about the food other than saying, “This is pad thai.” Thinking this was only the first stop, I didn’t worry too much about it. We then went on to the next stop: a place with a long line outside. We were able to skip the line and almost go straight in, which was nice. We got some more food there, but again without any real explanation. He either gave no explanation at all or said something very simple like, “This is a dumpling,” which I could have figured out myself. As the tour went on, half of the time I didn’t know what I was eating. This may have been because the tour guide’s English was not sufficient, or because I misunderstood the concept of the tour. When we, or other tour members, asked questions about the food, not much of an answer followed, except for repeating something he said earlier. We were also supposed to go to a certain place, but it was already closed, so we ended up going somewhere else. I do think this could have been planned better, because they were just closing up. Between the different meals, our guide sometimes lost part of the group because he didn’t check behind him. This may also have been due to the fact that our group consisted of nine people instead of the seven mentioned in the description. This change was likely caused by the original starting time (18:30) being cancelled because one of the tour guides was ill, after which we moved to a 19:00 starting time. We ended the tour at the Thai tea place and not at Hua Lamphong Station (or Wat Mangkon, where the tour started). This felt a bit strange, as the ending was very abrupt. The tour also lasted 2.5 hours instead of 3. This wouldn’t have been a problem on its own, but in combination with everything else, it didn’t feel right. I want to emphasize that the tour guide was nice, and I honestly think he was doing the best he could, but I don’t think this tour was worth the (almost) 50 euros. We ate food worth maybe around 20 euros. In the end, I don’t think we visited a Michelin-star restaurant at all. This would have been clear enough through signage, and none of the other group members recalled it either. This is disappointing, especially because we specifically chose this tour over another one because we really wanted to experience that.
