• Johnston Canyon - Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of Banff National Park’s top winter walk at Johnston Canyon!

Upon arrival, an expert local guide will entertain you with captivating stories and trivia as you stroll along the gentle path towards the Johnston Canyon falls trail. They will equip you with ice cleats/crampons and optional hiking poles for your journey to the frozen falls.

This trek takes approximately 30 minutes, covering a distance of 1.2 km with an elevation gain of 50m.

Upon reaching the Lower Falls, you can either return to the trailhead where a complimentary hot drink by a cozy firepit awaits or continue to the Upper Falls, which adds another 30 minutes and 1.3 km to the trek.

There, you’ll be mesmerized by the most stunning frozen waterfalls in the canyon and can observe adventurous ice climbers scaling the icy cliffs.

The complete round trip to the Upper Falls takes 2 hours, covering 5.0 km, with an elevation gain of 120m, suitable for those with average fitness.

• Mount Norquay Lookout - The best spot is chosen for the night – either tranquil lakes reflecting the Milky Way or the high lookout above town – with hot drinks and sweet treats in hand while the stars take over.
