Explore the gift shop and cafe before embarking on a 22-minute gondola ride that ascends through the majestic Rocky Mountains to the village. Enjoy a leisurely tour at your own pace, choosing between the Mount Standish Chairlift or a hike up the mountain to the viewpoint.
Ascend over 2,400 meters (7,875 feet) on the Mount Standish Chairlift, the highest sightseeing elevation in the Banff and Lake Louise area, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Rockies. Feel as if you’re on top of the world. From there, take in more breathtaking vistas from the Standish viewpoint platform or connect to the Sunshine Meadows hiking trails to visit the three high-alpine lakes: Larynx, Grizzly, and Rock Isle. Complimentary shuttle buses are available to the Banff Sunshine Village Gondola, with six daily pick-ups in Banff at various locations starting at 7:00 am. Free shuttle buses also offer six daily returns to Banff at various times throughout the day, with the last one departing the Banff Sunshine Village Gondola base area at 5:45 pm.
- Sunshine Village - Just a short 15-minute drive from Banff town, Sunshine Village is the perfect retreat to enjoy nature away from the crowds. Visit the gift shop and cafe before boarding the 8-passenger, 22-minute gondola ride that takes you through the Rocky Mountains to the village. Enjoy the tour at your own pace, opting for the Mount Standish Chairlift or a hike to the viewpoint.
Please Note: Plan your visit to allow ample time to ride the Gondola to the Village and savor the views from the Standish Viewing Deck. It is recommended to arrive at the Village no later than 3:30 pm.
