This centuries-old village is referred to as the “Venice of the East” by Venetian Antonio Pigafetta, who sailed to Brunei with Ferdinand Magellan’s flagship “Victoria” in 1521.

- Royal Regalia Museum - Tour the Royal Regalia Museum, which officially opened on September 30, 1992, to celebrate 25 years of His Majesty the Sultan’s accession to the throne.
The museum’s architectural design reflects the distinctive concept of the Malay Islamic Monarchy.
It showcases the royal regalia and customs used during the coronation, along with exhibits commemorating the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei.

The perfect day tour I was looking for to see Bandar Seri Begawan in one day! - I didn’t have long in Bandar Seri Begawan so I was looking for a day tour that would show me the best of the Brunei capital in just one day… this was the tour I was seeking. The tour started when my guide and driver, Faiso, picked me up from my hotel at 9 am and it ended when he dropped me back off at my hotel around 1:30 pm. I got to visit and see many notable attractions in the city including the Royal Regalia Museum, the Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, the Istana Nurul Iman entrance for some pics, the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, and more. I got to take a boat ride through the infamous Kampong Ayer Water Village and I even got to spend time in a traditional local resident’s house in the village which was a fantastic experience. Big shout out to my tour guide and driver, Faiso for doing an excellent job leading me on this tour. He was very knowledgeable and I got learned a lot about Bandar Seri Begawan and Brunei as a whole so a big thank you to him! For anyone visiting Bandar Seri Begawan that’s looking for a solid day tour that will show you what this city is about in just 1 day definitely consider booking this tour! I enjoyed it and I highly recommend it! - Nolan

Private Bandar Highlight & Water Village Tour - Thank you to Muhammad for providing us with a great experience. His knowledge and history of Brunei was very impressive. One of of the highlights of tour was being invited into a home in the water village.

Great informative tour - A great half day tour taking in all the main sights including the fascinating water village. Faisal was an excellent guide explaining Brunei culture and history and its people. I enjoyed the mosque visits and the tea at a local house in the water village. A great cultural experience.

Great tour, highly recommended - Jason, our amazing tour guide was so knowledgeable, respectful, cared for ensuring we had a great experience, & always knew when to interject with humour. We were tossing up between this & full day, but this was just enough to see the main highlights. Jason also showed us the exact spots of where to take photos. Highlight was the first mosque we visited & the water village. Very beautiful & kind people. Loved this tour. Thank you to Jason & the tour company :)

Terrible - Avoid! - Our tour guide, while kind, was very casual and it didn’t feel like an official tour at all. I have used Viator in many cities and this was by far the worst I’ve been on. She seemed to know everyone at the sights but sat in her vehicle for a few and didn’t give us any info or history at those spots. She was also on her phone the whole time. It was disappointing. Additionally, we were not offered water as was advertised and it was extremely hot out. Finally, the price that we paid for this tour vs what it would have actually cost was ridiculous. I have paid way less in Israel, Europe and NA where costs for services are extremely higher and gotten a MUCH better tour, let alone bang for my buck. I do not recommend this tour at all and will be requesting a refund or some credit.
