A real window into real life. - We were in Thailand for four weeks but this half day tour was what taught us the most about Thailand, at least rural Thailand, as a country and about the people who live there, it was really amazing. We did it as a family of four with one child being 11 and the other 8 they both managed to do all the cycling with no problem not only did we go around the rice paddies as you'd expect but also went through the village, spoke to locals, saw their gardens and some of the cottage industry and gained an insight into what they did for entertainment, we talked about cock fighting for example. Then the guide took us for a brilliant lunch where we continued the conversation but also he made sure that we had the local flavours typical rural Thai food which was really lovely. We also went and saw locals fishing in the river and even had a bit of a go, the locals offered one of my children to have a go at fishing which he did! An experience I think that will stay with him. The visit to the cooperative joinery workshop and also the distillery were fascinating as well. It is difficult when in a country to look beyond the tourist services that you see and try and understand the country this really helped us to begin to do that.

Incredibly beautiful sunset bike tour with Mr. Jip - the best bike guide in Sukhothai - Had a Sunset BikeTour with Mr. Jib and his (silent + frog-gathering) cousin Kop - what an incredibly beautiful activity! After many backpacking trails through the world, almost 50 countries + 5 continents a highlight in 3 weeks Thailand. Jip is a great person with karma, great English, good stories and a lot of background knowledge. Interesting stops at the locals without the otherwise frequent sales show. And what a blatantly beautiful blue and white temple was THAT in the middle of nowhere?!? The bikes are by SEA standards the Lambos among the rental bikes, the route mega and the 4 hours with 25km (instead of 15km in 2.5 hours) passed like in flight. Thank you, Mr. Jip, for a great family experience, your time + words, the great bikes and for letting us see a piece of authentic Thailand through your eyes!! Can only recommend this bike agency without restriction - support it!! All the best for you, your lovely family + the 28 cute cats, Markus-Nina-Mika-Tara from Germany

Fantastic Half Day Tour! - This was a great experience! The tour was me, my wife, and young adult daughter. First of all the Sukhothai historical area is a really special place and worth going out of your way to visit. We had flown into Chiang Mai and after our stay there booked a car to drive us to Sukhothai where we stayed at the Sawasdee Sukhothai resort (also highly recommended). We flew out on Bangkok Airways, which I understand owns the Sukhothai airport. As for the tour itself, it was super. Jib, who with his wife runs the company, is a fantastic guide - providing great insight into the historical site and local culture but not someone who just talks at you; he was interested in having a dialogue and answering questions. We wanted to see both the historical site and some countryside, but didn't want to do more than a half day so Jib basically came up with a custom tour for us. Both countryside and the old temples super cool and the little food place that we went to for lunch really good. All I can say is that even though Sukhothai is well known and the historical zone a UNESCO world heritage site it still feels like you are getting off the beaten path (but not roughing it) and Sukhothai Bicycle Tours is really the way to have the full experience of the place.
