• Palace of the Shirvanshahs - The Shirvanshah Palace, a gem of Azerbaijan’s architectural heritage, served as the residence of the Shirvan rulers and is situated in the heart of Baku. This stunning complex includes the Divan-Khan courtyard, a tomb, a mosque from 1441, as well as a bathhouse and the mausoleum of court scholar Seyid Yahya Bakuvi.
• Bukhara Caravanserai - Constructed in the late 15th century along the trade route of Icherisheher in Baku, the Bukhara caravanserai features a square shape with a prominent portal and an octagonal courtyard. The caravanserai is encircled by balconies and private rooms, including chapels. The octagonal courtyard served as an open-air hall where travelers and merchants gathered after daily trade activities. The restoration in 1964 removed later additions, revealing the caravanserai’s grand structure amidst surrounding buildings.
• Maiden Tower - Often compared to the Eiffel Tower of Baku, the Maiden Tower was used as a fortress by the Shirvanshahs in the 12th century for defense. Its architectural design, seemingly simple, features walls that are five meters thick at the base, tapering to four meters at the top. Today, the interior hosts a fascinating display of old photographs and a souvenir shop, with the highlight being the rooftop viewpoint offering stunning views of Baku Bay and the Old City. The panoramic views from the top encompass the Old City, modern skyscrapers on the hills, and the Caspian Sea.
• Miniature Books - Located in the old city of Icheri Sheher, the Museum of Miniature Books is recognized by the Guinness Book of Records for having the largest collection of miniature books. Founded by Zarifa Salahova, this unique museum opened on April 2, 2002, and now houses over 5,600 books from 66 countries worldwide.
