- Tower of Zindan - The tour commences at the pre-arranged time from the meeting point or hotel. The journey from Baku to Lankaran takes approximately 3 hours by car. The first stop is the Circular Castle & Old Prison, also known as the Round Tower or Zindan Tower. This tower was built as part of the Lankaran fortress and played a vital role in the city’s defense. Situated just beyond the small bridge leading into the city center, this ancient circular structure is concealed by large acacias and fig trees, with only the top of the tower visible, where branches protrude from broken windows. In the pre-Soviet era, up to the early 20th century, Zindan Tower served as a prison where Joseph Stalin was once held. Although the building is no longer open to the public, visitors can view it from the outside at a closer distance. Guests typically spend about 15–20 minutes here.
- Khan Palace (Lankaran Museum of History and Ethnography) - The second stop is the Lankaran Khan’s House, now the History Museum. It is just a 5-minute drive from Zindan Tower. The Khan’s House in Lankaran was constructed in 1913 by order of Mir Ahmed Khan, a descendant of the Talysh Khan Mirmustafa Khan, in honor of his wife Tugra Khan. Built by European architects, all construction materials were shipped from Baku. This impressive building was the first multi-story structure in Lankaran. The facade is decorated with mythological figures. It was among the first in the region to have electric lighting and a heating system, symbolizing innovation even before the revolution. Visitors can explore and appreciate the site for about 30 minutes, immersing themselves in its unique historical atmosphere.
- Lankaran - The next stop is the Tea Factory and Plantation, located just 5 minutes by car from Khan Palace. Lankaran is famous for its high-quality, aromatic tea, with cultivation beginning in the 1930s and soon becoming a regional hallmark. Upon entering the city, visitors are welcomed by the impressive giant samovar monument, celebrating Lankaran’s proud tea-growing tradition. Guests are scheduled to spend around 30 minutes here, offering an ideal opportunity to observe the tea production process, explore the plantation, and enjoy the tranquil green landscapes infused with the scent of freshly processed leaves.
- Talışlı - The tour continues to the bamboo plantation in Talishli village, a 15-minute drive from the Tea Plantation. This bamboo plantation is a unique ecological and botanical site in the Lankaran region, featuring dense stands of Bambusoideae species. The environment provides a microclimate suitable for these fast-growing perennial grasses, creating a landscape reminiscent of East Asian bamboo forests. Participants have a 30-minute interval for systematic observation and examination of the structural, ecological, and phenological characteristics of the bamboo habitat.
- Khanbulanchay Reservoir - The final stop is Lake Khanbulan, located within Hirkan National Park. The drive from the Tea Plantation to this site takes 25 minutes. The lake is surrounded by forested terrain, with several small recreational facilities currently operational. Lake Khanbulan stretches 4.7 km in length and 2.2 km in width, offering significant visual and ecological appeal throughout the seasons. Visitors have a 60-minute period for systematic observation and experiential engagement with the lake and its surrounding habitat. The tour concludes at this location, and the drive from the final destination to the designated drop-off point is approximately 3 hours. Guests are returned to their hotel meeting point upon arrival. The total tour duration is planned for 9 hours; however, the itinerary may extend to 10–11 hours to provide an enhanced experiential program, including optional food and tea breaks, ensuring a comprehensive and memorable journey.
