- Multani Caravansarai - Caravanserais were vital for travelers in the past, providing a safe haven for merchants and their animals to rest and recuperate after long journeys. The historical Baku tour includes visits to two caravanserais in the Old City. The first, Multani, was established in the 14th century for Indian merchants who frequently traveled through Azerbaijan. Many of these travelers were fire-worshippers from the distant city of Multani, which eventually lent its name to this beautiful place. The second, Bukhara, is a stunning architectural piece from the 15th century, located on a major route through Azerbaijan. Travelers from Asia, particularly Central Asia, often stayed at the Bukhara Caravansarai while journeying from Bukhara, hence its name. Both caravanserais are part of the Great Silk Way.
- House of Baku Khans - The Residence of Baku Khans is a captivating and awe-inspiring site, dating back to the early 18th century. Generations of Baku Khanate rulers lived and governed within these walls, with their wealth evident to all. Unfortunately, the last Khan to reside here was Huseyngulu Khan in the early 19th century.
- Palace of the Shirvanshahs - The Palace of Shirvanshahs, often referred to as the pearl of Baku City, is one of the most enchanting locations in the Old City. Its exquisite architecture and the masterful craftsmanship of the past are still visible today, shining in all its glory.
- Vahid Monument - Aliaga Vahid, a renowned Azerbaijani poet, penned some of the most beautiful poems of his time. He was also a close friend of the world-famous poet Sergei Yesenin. During the Old City walking tour, visitors will see his impressive bust, where the professional guide will share more about this significant figure in Azerbaijani culture.
- Juma Mosque - Finally, the tour concludes with the breathtaking Juma Mosque, located just a 5-minute walk from the Maiden Tower, the tour’s starting point. Built in 1437, the mosque has been reconstructed and updated several times over the years. A minaret, which has survived to the present day, was also added. With this, the historical tour around the Old City concludes, allowing tourists to explore further on their own.
