- Qala Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum Complex - The guide will meet the group at their accommodation. The journey begins with a visit to the Gala open-air museum. The Qala Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum Complex is located in the historic part of Gala village. The village boasts 216 monuments. Visitors will encounter petroglyphs (stone carvings) from the third and second millennia B.C. and the Middle Ages, along with household ceramics and archaeological artifacts found on the Absheron Peninsula. The Merchant’s house is a splendid example of medieval residential architecture in the village. Additionally, the museum showcases tombstones, kurgans (artificial mounds), and various tools, including the “khana” (a tool for carpet weaving).
- Mardakan Castle - The tour continues with a visit to the tower in Mardakan village. The name Mardakan is linked to the “Mard” tribe (meaning brave). With the unification of the Shirvanshahs kingdom, numerous towers were constructed on the Absheron Peninsula. Besides its historical importance, the Quadrangular Tower in Mardakan is a majestic castle and part of Absheron’s comprehensive defense system. Its strategic location allowed for clear views of the seashore, Gala, and Ramana fortresses from the Tower.
- Yanardag State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve - Next, visitors will enjoy the view of Yanardag (Burning Mountain). In ancient times, natural eternal flames burned in many areas of Absheron. Yanardag has been designated a State Historical-Cultural and Natural Reserve to preserve this natural monument.
- Ateshgah - Fire Temple - The final stop is the Ateshgah temple, situated about 30 km from central Baku in the suburb of Surakhany. The guide will provide extensive information about the temple, including the history of its creation in Baku and the unique natural phenomenon of burning natural gas outlets.
