Traverse through desert patches, rocky hills, ocean cliffs, sandy beaches, and intertidal zones, all offering breathtaking views! The hike concludes at Tecolote beach, where lunch and relaxation await until 3 pm. Tandem sit-on-top kayaks are used, and life jackets are provided. The kayaks are suitable for individuals weighing up to 90 kilos. The day ends with a delightful lunch featuring local and fresh ceviche at the beach. Vegan options are available upon request! This adventure requires an intermediate fitness level, and booking on non-windy days is recommended.
Please note that a car or taxi is necessary for this adventure! Let us know if assistance is needed in coordinating a pickup with a trusted taxi. Transportation from downtown La Paz is 1200 pesos per car.

While Balandra beach is open to all, there is more to it than the primary beach that most tourists are familiar with. During this excursion, we’ll guide you through the intricate details and elevated viewpoints of Balandra, offering you insight into the local history and the area’s fauna. All our tour leaders are bilingual and have substantial experience as marine biologists.

A Playa Balandras
We'll meet at the queue to enter Balandra at 7:40 am. Since only a certain amount of people are allowed in at 8 am, we need to get on line in time in order to be allowed in.
Your guides will be there in a Honda Pilot with kayaks tied on top.

Great experience - It was an incredible experience, very tiring (I hadn't done that much exercise in a long time) but it was memorable. Clara and Jon were very attentive; without a doubt, this is a must-do activity to get to know Balandra and its surroundings very well.
If you do this activity, do not forget to bring good hiking shoes and your water bottle.

Highly recommend! - Balandra itself is stunning, and our guides, John and Danny were friendly, spoke fantastic English and were super knowledgeable about the area - the marine life, the birds, the geology, all of it. They navigated a complicated situation with other guests with grace. Kayaks and equipment were in good shape. The snorkeling was beautiful with tons of fish, and shallow enough that it was easy, with great visibility. The view from the hike portion was spectacular. Would definitely recommend it. I only went yesterday and I’m already sad I’m not there today. My only regret is not packing a waterproof phone case so I couldn’t taken more pictures!

Great Tour of all of Balandra - Some of the most knowledgable tour guides I've ever had. They both had their masters degrees in Science and a love for nature. They were ready to answer all of my questions about the area. John was even able to set me up with another tour and ride for another day. This tour did a great job going through all of the joys of Balandra from kayaking through the Mangroves, snorkeling the coral reef and hiking the beautiful mountains. It was worth the money.

Lovely tour. 100% recommended - The best experience in Peace without a doubt. The tour is super complete I loved the Kayak and hiking! Amazing views of Playa Balandra. The guides are experts and make you feel great, I was with Alex and Javi and 10! Highly recommended. I would definitely come back!

A beautiful experience - Everything was excellent from start to finish. Hiking, kayaking and snorkeling were just spectacular, they really make you feel in paradise. In addition, at all times there were experts guiding us, explaining every detail and resolving any doubt with a lot of patience and good vibe.
I want to highlight Fernando and Lorenza, who made the ride even more special with their kindness and professionalism.
And to close with a golden clasp, we were offered a delicious ceviche 🫶🏼
Without a doubt, a super recommended experience for those who want to enjoy nature to the fullest.

Super experience - The tour was super complete. I loved kayaking and hiking has spectacular views of the beach. The guides are experts and share a lot of information about the area. It was Javi and Alex's turn and I would definitely repeat. I recommend it 100%. Also very small groups and very familiar atmosphere.

Active day at Balandra - This is a wonderful relaxing day in a beautiful setting. The combination of hiking, snorkelîg and kayaking with marine biologists was extra special and we appreciated the expertise of our guides Fernando and John. This special area is renowned and we had a perfect day of sun, crystal clear waters, and plentiful wildlife! The snorkeling was especially exciting, due to many fish species spotted and a special sighting of rays. Strongly recommend booking a tour like this to access this strictly controlled preserve and to optimize your time here. Our hike was between easy and moderate, best if you feel steady with climbing and descending some stretches. Kayaking was peaceful.

Great all-day experience at Balandra! - Beautiful to experience the mangrove forest and Balandra beach from the top of a kayak. Everything was so beautiful! To snorkel at the reef and the hike from beach to beach all the way through Tecolote.
This is an experience I would definitely do again!
