The Best and Exclusive Experience in Baja! : 7-Day All-Inclusive Whale Safari - Today, there are countless options when it comes to tours, but not all of them offer the same level of experience. Two months ago, a simple Instagram post about whale watching caught my attention and sparked my curiosity. I began searching for different whale tours in Baja California and discovered an incredible product: a 5-day whale safari with Bajasurtours, the creators of this unique adventure. In today’s world, travelers crave genuine EXPERIENCES. An experience isn’t just about what you see or visit; it’s about four key elements: cultural immersion, interaction with nature, quality of service, and, most importantly, the emotional impact it leaves on travelers. As far as I can tell, the 5-day whale safari is the ONLY product in the whale-watching market that delivers all four elements seamlessly. Jahaziel, the owner of Bajasurtours, was incredibly responsive from the start and flexible enough to customize the experience, adding two extra days to create an unforgettable 7-day whale safari. If you’re looking for a REAL EXPERIENCE in whale watching in Baja California, I highly recommend this tour. Cultural Immersion: We visited iconic places like Los Cabos, Todos Santos, Loreto, La Paz, Puerto Adolfo Lopez Mateos, Espíritu Santo Island, and La Ventana. Jahaziel maximized our experience with additional stops, even for spontaneous whale-watching opportunities, such as in Gazpeño. He took us to taste authentic, fresh Baja cuisine in hidden restaurants that are only reachable through his tour. We were blown away by a local gem he took us to in Los Cabos—delicious food, great atmosphere, and an experience you can’t get anywhere else. Throughout the trip, he provided a comfortable van and shared information about the history, geography, geology, birdlife, and botany of each place we visited. Traveling by car allowed us to get a comprehensive understanding of Baja’s landscapes and culture. The pristine beaches we explored in Loreto and Espíritu Santo Island were absolutely breathtaking, and Jahaziel’s skilled captains ensured we felt safe and relaxed as we enjoyed every moment. Interaction with Nature: Jahaziel’s 7-day tour is the most comprehensive whale and marine life experience you can find in Baja. We encountered whales constantly at every port! We interacted with three different species: humpback, gray, and even the rare blue whale, both in the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. Watching humpback whales jump just eight meters away from our boat in Los Cabos was awe-inspiring, and witnessing the playful “spy-hop” behavior of gray whales in Puerto Chale was unforgettable. We even saw a gray whale nursing a pregnant whale surrounded by dolphins. In Loreto, we got up close to the enormous blue whales (they are absolutely GIGANTIC!). We snorkeled with sea lions, watched flying rays in La Ventana, and even spotted turtles, mako sharks, and spent over an hour sailing alongside a pod of 250 dolphins. We highly recommend visiting in mid-February for the ultimate marine life experience and consider adding an extra night or two in Los Cabos to witness the full migration. MOST IMPORTANT: Jahaziel’s tour is the ONLY one that provides a marine biologist on every whale and marine life excursion. This added an entirely new dimension to our experience. Carlos and Ivan, the marine biologists, were incredibly knowledgeable and shared valuable insights at the perfect moments during our interactions with whales, sea lions, and other marine life. They helped us not just see, but truly understand animal behaviors and their relationship with the environment. Quality of Service: Service in Mexico is known for being exceptional, but Jahaziel’s team went above and beyond in every activity. He consistently arrived 10 to 15 minutes before every pick-up time, kept the van spotless, provided our favorite snacks and drinks throughout the trip (even on the whale-watching boats), and offered high-quality wetsuits in the right sizes. He took care of our luggage, and the marine biologists ensured we had everything we needed on the boats. We felt truly cared for and incredibly safe the entire time. A marine safari involves patience and skill in finding the best spots to observe animals. This may sound simple, but it requires captains who are experts in reading the sea, knowing where to go, how long to stay, and how to ensure the best possible views. We were thrilled to have this level of expertise with Jahaziel’s tours. Emotional Impact: Very few trips leave a lasting impact on travelers, but this 7-day experience was different. From our first whale-watching adventure, we felt a deep connection to nature, the places we visited, the incredible people we met, and Jahaziel’s dedicated team. We’re certain this experience has created a new story in our lives that will continue to bring us joy and inspiration every time we remember it. We are completely satisfied with this 7-day adventure and will cherish the memories and emotional impact it has left on our lives Thank you very much Jahaziel!!!

A first class whale watching experience - The perfect Whale Safari! We couldn't find what we wanted from a UK based company so, after much searching on the internet, we hit up Baja Sur Tours. Jahaziel patiently answered our many questions before we booked, openly and honestly. We opted for the small group tour but at the time of booking we were the only two booked. We didn't want to risk cancellation if nobody else booked so agreed a second (higher) price if it was just the two of us. In the event, it was just ther two of us and we paid the extra, expecting the trip to be the 2 of us plus a guide travelling by car. No - we had a modern, comfortable minibus throughout. Jahaziel remained with us throughout the trip as did Maru, a higly qualified marine biologist. The two of them could not have been more attentive, providing copious supplies of drinks and snacks of our choice and happy to stop whenever we asked for photos, shopping etc. Every whale watching excursion was just the 4 of us. With one unfortunate exception, the boat captains were excellent. Maru was extremely knowledgable and gave us lots of information before each trip. She was also very respectful of the whales, avoiding crowding the whales (which was not always the case with other boats) but still giving us great experiences. I never expected to be within a few feet of a blue whale, for example, or swim with whale sharks! Both Jahaziel and Maru took lots of photos and videos throughout the safari, all of which they shared with us - over 2,000 pictures. All in all a great experience.

Once in a lifetime! Best trip ever! - A trip of a lifetime made close to perfect by Baja Sur Tours and the owner Jahaziel. I started communicating with Jahaziel in early January to plan a special trip for my brother who has terminal brain cancer. As you can imagine because of the cancer there were many concerns and limitations that needed to be addressed and it was difficult to know when or if we would actually be able to book. Despite that, Jahaziel worked patiently with me through many emails and questions to customize the mini safari to meet our needs. The mini safari is a four night, 3 excursion private all inclusive trip. Other than get to Los Cabos there is nothing for you to do. Jahaziel arranges everything from picking you up at the airport, all the hotels, all the restaurants and all the travel, and there is a fair amount of travel to get to all the incredible whale and marine animal watching excursions. The hotels – all of the ones we stayed in were comfortable, clean, quiet about 3 star hotels. The quiet being very important as you have some pretty early mornings to get on the water at the best time to find whales. The restaurants - every restaurant was excellent, most of them were small local restaurants you would never find as a tourist. The travel – you travel between locations in a very comfortable van. Jahaziel was great at putting in stops for meals or just a break so that even the one 5 – 6 hour drive was good. Plus, there are beverages, sparkling water for me and cerveza for the guys, and snacks available all the time. The excursions – Wow! We went to watch humpbacks off Cabo San Lucas, meet gray whales in Magdalena Bay and visited sea lions from La Paz. It was amazing! We followed a group of humpbacks for a couple hours and saw many breaches one after another and lots of them swimming on their backs and waving at us with their fins. We were surrounded by gray whales at one point and many of them came within feet of the boat! And the sea lions were noisy and curious and fun to swim with. We got lucky with what we got to see but the expertise and experience of Baja Sur Tours guides and the boat captains they work with played a big part in us being in the right place at the right time. Jahaziel and our guide Adri were with us every step of the way and were a lot of fun to be with! In addition, throughout the trip Jahaziel and Adri as well as our guide with the seals, Lorenza were patient and understanding with my brother and went out their way to keep him safe and happy. I would highly recommend Baja Sur Tours for your next whale watching excursion! And I can’t thank them enough for giving us an amazing trip and memories to last forever with my brother!
